IMHO, Ted Cruz is just another politician seeking more power.
You really think so? I mean he really seems to genuinely care about America. I'm not a republican but he seems like one of the few who at least has a high ethical and moral compass.

I prefaced my statement with IMHO. That's just how I feel when I listen to him speak. He reminds me of many of the TV evangelist that I have heard over the years. I'll leave it there for now.

My question was an honestly inquisitive one and I meant no judgement about your opinion.

Unlike the Obama conspiracy theories, Ted Cruz is without question unqualified to run as President. However, this is going to be a great lesson for Americans, imo. And I think he knows that and that's what he's exploiting.

He wants to see if Republican loyalists are so sick of Obama and the Liberal machine that they'll rally round a vocal Christian GOP Conservative who makes impassioned speeches like all politicians from both sides of the aisle, and those electorate are then so fired up that they'll rally for his candidacy and all the while it escapes them; Ted Cruz was born in Canada. And that makes him ineligible to even begin to stir the rally in his name.

And if we thought Bill slick Willie Clinton was slick in trash talking the truth out of both sides of his mouth, Teddy is demonstrated he's of that ilk already and as early as 2013 when he claimed he was going to 'renounce' the Canadian citizenship he never knew he had!

He went through law school but he's not smart enough to know where he was born? View attachment 101969 I call Bullfrog!
Even obama's good buddy, the race baiting racist sharpton says Cruz is "allegable" to run. I LOVE how the left is petrified of this guy. That's how I KNOW he's my man!

It's so easy to settle this; if Cruz is eligible, no question of Obama's eligibility should ever come into question again. *reminded of Obama's mom, who you know, was American* :)

Now regarding Cruz, I view him like I view every other candidate who wasn't named Ron Paul; he is a politician and not a stateman, so I take what he say with a grain of salt...

Ted Cruz was born in Canada and to a Cuban father and an American mother who hails from Delaware. That means he's a Canadian citizen and the Constitution guarantees he's ineligible.
That's cluelessness at it's utmost and highest. Done here. Write your election board, or your congressman, but I, for one, won't be reading any more of this tripe.

If we're going to discuss presidential candidates, let's at least let's do s0 from a rational perspective. This is the same scenario under which Obama was questioned, and they were right -- at least, tiven the information available -- in stating he is eligible to be president.

So is Cruz. Get used to it.

By the way, AngelFrog, you disproved your own argument:

U.S. Constitution Article 2 Section 1

....No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States ...
There's your proof right there. it doesn't matter that the next phrase is "at the time of the adoption (etc.) ... " because it has long been interpreted that anyone born of any citizen of the U.S. is eligible to be president. You yourself said his mother is from Delaware. We'll be expecting your apology.

The constitution guarantees that someone who was not a "natural born" citizen will not be eligible to ascend to the Oval office. Ted Cruz was born an American citizen because his mother was an American citizen just as much as children born to American servicemen or diplomats overseas are American citizens. The Constitution does not define "natural born" and since it doesn't, Federal law dictates the definition. Federal Immigration law states that a person born on foreign soil to an parent that is an American citizen is born an American citizen.

PS. John McCain was born in Panama to American parents and no one questioned his eligibility.

IIRC, John McCain was born on a naval station. His dad was a Naval officer I believe which makes that apples to oranges. Being born on a military installation is equivalent to being born on US soil

U.S. Constitution Article 2 Section 1

....No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
Angel, Cruz is a natural born Citizen. He was born in Canada. But his mother was a citizen of the US, making her son a US citizen. Ted Cruz is a citizen of the US: Not by naturalization but by birth.

Many people have been born on foreign soil. They are US citizens though because of their parent/parents are citizens. Think of military families and families with political leaders overseas, they don't lose their citizenship simply because they are overseas. Any children born to them are natural born citizens of the US.

It's not a mystery. Nor is it a matter of place. It is a matter of relationship. Natural born citizen vs. Naturalization.

Natural born - one who was born in the US regardless of the citizen status of the parents, or one who was born of a US citizen regardless of the place of birth. Natural born is at birth.

Naturalization - one who was not born in US and whose parents are not US citizens, but who completed process and met requirements to become US citizen. Naturalization is long after birth.

A natural born can be, is qualified, allowed, permitted to hold office of president of the US.
A naturalized is not qualified.

And no court is going to change that. Doubt if US Supreme would allow it in as a case.

Why do you not believe this? I don't understand.

Ted Cruz will show you his college transcripts. He released a birth certificate that isn't at all questionable. He didn't hang around Marxist professors in college and smoke dope. I'd vote for Ted Cruz over barack Obama if he was born on Mars to half human half cat Martians.

Ted Cruz won second place in the world debate competition and first place in the United states. He reads without a TelePrompTer. You can read his thesis if you want too. He is hiding nothing AND He is truly a brilliant man.

USA Today -
[h=1]Top lawyers: 'No question' Canada-born Cruz eligible for presidency[/h]
Two former top Justice Department lawyers say there is "no question" Ted Cruz is eligible for the presidency, in a new Harvard Law Review article that seeks to put to rest any doubt about the Texas Republican.

"Despite the happenstance of a birth across the border, there is no question that Senator Cruz has been a citizen from birth and is thus a 'natural born citizen' within the meaning of the Constitution," write Neal Katyal and Paul Clement in an article published March 11. "There are plenty of serious issues to debate in the upcoming presidential election cycle. The less time spent dealing with specious objections to candidate eligibility, the better."

Cruz was born in 1970 in Canada, where his parents were working in Calgary's oil industry. His mother was born in the United States (Delaware, to be exact) and his father was born in Cuba. Cruz has said he didn't realize until the Dallas Morning News pointed out that he was automatically a citizen of the United States and Canada when he was born, so he officially renounced his Canadian citizenship last year.

He is considering a 2016 presidential bid and told a New Hampshire audience this weekend to "stay tuned."
The Harvard Law Review article is notable because it is a bipartisan assessment that Cruz meets the Constitution's requirement that the president be a "natural born citizen." Katyal was an acting solicitor general in the Obama administration from May 2010 to June 2011. Clement was solicitor general from 2004 to 2008 in the Bush administration and is, perhaps, best known nationally among conservatives for arguing the case against President Obama's health care law before the Supreme Court in 2012.

Katyal and Clement review the intent and meaning behind "natural born citizen," going back to the Founding Fathers. The question about citizenship and presidential eligibility has also affected Barry Goldwater, George Romney and John McCain over the years — and all met the constitutional test.

Katyal and Clement conclude in their article:
"As Congress has recognized since the Founding, a person born abroad to a U.S. citizen parent is generally a U.S. citizen from birth with no need for naturalization. And the phrase 'natural born Citizen' in the Constitution encompasses all such citizens from birth. Thus, an individual born to a U.S. citizen parent — whether in California or Canada or the Canal Zone — is a U.S. citizen from birth and is fully eligible to serve as President if the people so choose."

Ted Cruz was shown on an interview this morning talking about his running for presidency.
He mentioned how his wife is quitting her job to help out with his campaign, and because her job provided the healthcare for his family and they will lose it now. He said they are going to sign up for Obamacare, and mentioned how there are a number of republicans in government offices that have Obamacare. He also mentioned how their version of Obamacare is tax payer paid, so once again he announced how tax payers are paying for subsidies for people that can afford it.......

I saw this, but frankly I think it was a loaded question and rather unfair. Ted Cruz as a government employee is of course going to have whatever insurance program the government is currently offering. It is as if one has food, they are going to eat their morsel, but it is no fault in wanting more and better food for everyone else. The only point on this that it raises for Cruz is that he spends a good deal of time wanting to dismantle Obamacare, and perhaps fairly so, but he offers no real alternatives or solutions.

I do not know if he will be able to keep his money up to stay the course, but it is nice to see a man look to lay some sort of foundation in values we as people should hold on to. For the value of any, is measured by the company one keeps, and by the example on looks to set for others, whether they like that person or not.To become accountable! what a most interesting foundation, many have forgotten. As we all know speaking is the easy part, doing is the result,of a persons words to start with! DO!!! Then speak! So we will see.

Various alternatives have been offered.......problem is with the Republican Leadership being cowards and afraid to actually do what they were elected to do............and that is to LEAD!

Cruz has spoke more than once about the Health Care issue, you can google.
