The collapse of the Soviet Union destroyed much of the systems and infrastructures that provided social security and a minimal standard of living for the population and law and order across the country broke down resulting in outbreak of crime. Putin's methods to conquer it and then transform it have worked over time and the crime rate in Russia rapidly decreased and the homicide rate dropped by a threefold decrease.

You got your number of 300,000 from Wikipedia which referenced a Moscow Times article in which no source or citation was given to support that number and a CBS article that said they are operating in 50 countries but gave no source or citation either.

Now even if these uncited and unsourced Wikipedia assertions are true, which has certainly not been shown to be so, that's 6,000 members per country. Just for fun 7,095,914,250 world population/198 countries=35,837,950 average number of people per country divided into 6,000 mobsters=0.00016742029 percentage of the population are Russian mafia members for each country they are in. We have more gangsters and associates than that here in Los Angeles... lol.

But you're completely ignoring my main point which is they have been transformed by Putin who has replaced the uber-violent old Russian mafia dons with government white collar bureaucrats. Putin continues to consolidate and then weed the garden. Now pay attention.

Putin fought white collar corruption and reeled in the Russian mafia materially decreasing crime in the process and making Russia safer by Russian standards. He enacted strict economic reform and tax codes stabilizing a plummeting economy. And by nationalizing the Russian oil industry, Putin oversaw massive amounts of money flow back into the Russian government coffers (though oil is low now it was high for years). He reduced Russian poverty by half and Russia has virtually no foreign debt anymore plus they stashed billions into their banking system for future generations. And he did it all while fostering moderate overall economic growth. As a result, his approval ratings among Russians have never sunk below 65%, and often went as high as 85%.

Pussy Riots are much much much lower (except outside Russia in the liberal press). I hope that's not what this is all about. You don't like Putin because Pussy Riot can't take over a church and scream blasphemies at shocked congregations and Russia isn't legalizing the induction of children into homosexual acts.

The Mafia, particularly the Russian one is expanding, recently its grown to around roughly 300,000 members, if they didn't help him, I wonder who ballot stuffed for his last election. The man is out for power that much is certain, whether it be political office jumping, or simply extending the presidential term limits.

No I don't like him because he ballot stuffed his way into power in the last election, and switches positions or extends his own power, and appoints his other KGB or FSB friends into positions of power. And they do have billions of external debt, and its setting records for growth in recent years.

I never understand this. Christians believe God is the ultimate authority. God defined homosexuality as sexual depravity and an abomination before the Lord, and yet people actually expect Christians to ignore God's stamp of disapproval on homosexuality as well as any other sin
and God also said that:
eating shellfish is an abomination Lev 11:9-12
Having a Christmas tree is an abomination Lev. 18:30
snacking on four legged insects is an abomination Lev 11:20(I know there aren’t any bit if there were i bet they would be tasty.)
Wanting silver and gold is an abomination Deut 7:25
Reading your daily horoscope is an abomination Deut 18:11-12
Incense is an abomination Isaiah 1:13
Remarriage after divorce is an abomination Deut 24:1-4
A women wearing pants is an abomination Deut 22:5
Having your way with another man’s concubine, withoutpermission, is an abomination Judges20:6 (it’s all right if you ask first)
Thinking that you are a better Christian than someone elseis an abomination Proverbs 6:16-19
White lies are an abomination Proverbs 6:16-19
Inter religious marriage is an abomination Malachi 2:11
Gossip is an abomination Proverbs 6:16-19
Thinking you are better than anyone else is anabomination Proverbs 11:20

by simply calling corruption by other names, such as an alternate lifestyle or nothing more than a sexual orientation.
Still talking about the “gay lifestyle” is as meaningless astalking about the black lifestyle or the left-handed lifestyle

God's primary purpose for the primitive ancient nation of Israel was to prepare humanity for his New Covenant of reconciliation. He was accomplishing things in a specific time and place. Context and application is important to truth. There were abominations that applied only to the Jews such as eating shellfish, rabbit, and pork, etc., which were things that typologically represented purity before the Lord.

We know this because God says, "Speak to the sons of Israel saying..." He gives instructions to the Israelites, not to the rest of the nations. And obviously there were no Christmas trees in ancient Israel. The passage in Jeremiah is speaking to a specific pagan custom in which the tree was cut down, adorned, and actually worshipped.

Obviously God created trees and shellfish. They are not abominable. It's their usage in abominable acts such as worshipping trees as gods in any period of human history or an ancient Israelite rejecting the purity code regarding shellfish of the Mosaic Law which was only for a specific time and people.

Sex is no different. God created the ability to have sex with specific purpose and instruction. It's the ungodly wrong use of sex in homosexual acts is that's abominable.

From the biblical perspective an abomination callously disregards and actively disdains the values God has established. It affronts God’s holiness, sovereignty as Creator and purposes expressed in the Law.

But pay attention: there is an irony in the image of abomination. It is not chosen in brazen rebellion against God, but is perceived within the values of the offender as the good and right thing to do.

Thus the sacrifice of the wicked (Prov 15:8), the prayer of the lawbreaker (Prov 28:9) and blemished sacrifice (Deut 17:1) are abominations, although their practitioners do not perceive themselves as committing an abomination.

Sound familiar? Homosexuality works the same way. Homosexuality is an abomination even though the vast majority of people who choose to engage in it are not doing so out of a desire to brazenly rebel against God.

I would say the same about most Wiccans engaging in the occult (e.g. witchcraft and sorcery) I've met. Their witchcraft and sorcery is, in their estimation, "natural" and good.

In reality, both have been deceived by the devil... the ancient liar who leads the world astray and they don't see that what they are doing are serious abominations with serious consequences.

Yet there is still a long laundry list of abominations inscripture most of which some Christians are willing to dismiss as not applyingto them while picking out one to use in attacks against minorities.

So shrimp cocktail is an affront to God

There is as much choosing in homosexuality as there is in heterosexuality. Specifically both gays and straights chooseto fall in love, to commit to another for life, to start a family.

Brother Andrew Murray (e.g. God's Smuggler) and Open Doors who has worked closely with the Russian Orthodox Church since 1957 says the opposite, that the Russian Orthodox Church is filled with genuine spirit-filled believers who have been refined through persecution.

I accept that you believe that. But I do question your Divinity credentials and your training in Russian Orthodox theology though and would like to see some of your peer reviewed scholarly publications supporting your assertion.

well, i'll agree concerning the Russian Orthodox Church since it is a Kagan establishment (through marriages c. 6-500AD).
and over-the-top gnosticky.

but:

Protestants make up the second or third largest group of Christian believers, with approximately 3,500 organizations and more than 1 million followers. A large number of missionaries operating in the country are from Protestant denominations..

the Lord has people in many cities.

Yes, thanks for piling on zone. Russia and the Slavic countries emerged from nearly a century of persecution under state atheism in which 20 million (almost all Orthodox) died for their faith including hundreds of thousands of priests for refusing to compromise the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a godless atheistic totalitarian regime.

But you three have them deceived by the devil and burning in hell as heretics. How lovely of you. Maybe not next time since nothing could be further from the truth.

This is your interpretation of giving someone the 'benefit of the doubt'? Lol! A wise person would have asked why I thought their post was stupid. You never did.

Instead, you defiled yourself yet again by immediately building yet another man out of straw to project a conjured distortion on as is your habit.

I've seen a lot of bad behavior from you since you came here. In my opinion, you have a bad heart that is borne out by your bad behavior.

Though you don't deserve it, I'll give you a tip before I move on to more important things on this American holiday. See that search box up in the right hand corner of your screen. You'll find the answers to your question by using it as each of your questions has already been answered on this forum.

That's why I thought your post was stupid. Because you were asking questions the answers which are readily available on this forum. And you were doing it after you had already been told to earlier back when you were playing the 'Clueless Newb' silly string game of questions.

For everyone else:

I don't think it is necessary "outlaw" indoctrination. I think it is right and necessary to demand that our education system be required to focus on academics, raise the standard of requirements and allow students to fail. Most likely there will be a 2 or 3 year long "fail rate", requiring students to take courses over, possibly in a different setting than the traditional classroom. Or I suppose standards could be raised gradually. I am no expert in ways to implement education. I just know that money and more technology will not make up for low standards and time wasted in social engineering classes.

Rachel, do you happen to have first hand experience with Russian Christians, and churches? I don't have any knowledge about them, and am wondering if you are expressing your opinion, or if I can count on your statement as fact.

Yikes! I began here by reading this thread because it is a subject that interest, and worries me. I do know gay people. I love my gay friends. Even so, I don't support gay activist who most certainly do have an agenda. Many of them come right out and say they do, and why. Simply, I don't like the sexual indoctrination of children, by our society. You know how this happens, I don't need to spell it out. Now, a small group of homosexuals want to validate themselves by introducing sexual behavior that most would never consider, if it weren't illustrated for them. What selfish people we are, and how dare anyone decide when and how my children will be told about the sex act between "people". Sorry, but that remark, "what is the consequence of love?" just isn't valid in this debate. We are talking about the real consequences of how we Act...what we do...not who we love. A society with any sense of surviving and prospering beyond our own death, with any respect for the generations to come, will act in their best interest. School/education, is for the benefit of learning skills and knowledge that enables students to provide for their own welfare, think critically, adapt to the challenges that they will surely face. That's it. We should not attempt to convince or mold children in our image and that is exactly what the gay agenda intends. That is so obvious that it is painful to hear anyone try to deny it. Now, having said that, of course we, as adults, encourage, and expect our kids to be kind and considerate of those who are different from ourselves. But we do not have to allow educators or gay rights activist , or Christians, etc. to influence our children for, or against the child's family situation. Whatever it may be, besides abusive of course.
