Point to make: What Alabama is doing does not work to legalize gay marriage. In order to get married, people now have to go to a Preacher to get married. Not the Court House!
Now, if two gays find a Preacher to marry them........well, that can not be blamed on the State.
As for God punishing America, He will punish all peoples and Governments that do not obey Him. America included. But, He will NEVER forsake His children, so don't worry 'bout that.

The good 'ol US of A has called itself Christian from the outset. That is a good thing. We have grown away from our moral Christian heritage. That is a very bad thing. You are right, judgement is coming.
Hosea 4:1-3: "Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
