While Sirk persists in his hate and projections, it's time to go Back on topic again:

Vice President Mike Pence said Wednesday that he believes the administration can work with Congress to still pass a repeal-and-replace plan for Obamacare.
“I’m very confident that in the days ahead, we’re going to see the Congress come together,” Mr. Pence said on CNN’s “New Day.”
Although Mr. Pence is on a foreign trip around Asia, he has been making calls to Republicans to discuss the replacement plan as Congress looks to try and pass health care reform again after the recess.
“President Trump has made it clear that the first priority of this Congress should be to repeal and replace Obamacare.”
Mr. Pence also addressed the growing calls for the president to release his tax returns, something the vice president said he plans to do.

Hopefully, this news can bring the universal coverage promised by Trump in the campaign.

Like your mentor and alter ego Sirk, you fail to understand that this thread is not about me but about ACA and counter proposals to it by Trump and his allies.

While many of you on the far right applaud the idea of removing health care coverage for Americans, such a move would be critical to many, especially to veterans:

[h=1]Under #Trumpcare, hundreds of 1000's #vets would lose their health care coverage. Add it to[/h]

Veterans saw dramatic gains in coverage after Obamacare
Veterans saw dramatic gains in coverage after Obamacare began - Apr. 19, 2017 #TRuMPCare will take away the gains

by Tami Luhby @Luhby April 19, 2017: 6:17 PM ET

The number of uninsured veterans plummeted after Obamacare began, a new Urban Institute study has found.

The uninsured rate among veterans under age 65 dropped to 5.9% in 2015, down from 9.6% two years earlier, according to the report. The number of vets lacking coverage fell to 552,000, down from 980,000.

The changes started in 2014, when two major Obamacare coverage provisions kicked in. That's when Medicaid expansion took effect and the Obamacare exchanges opened. Most uninsured veterans had incomes that would make them eligible either for Obamacare subsidies or Medicaid.

Veterans eligible for Medicaid expansion -- individuals earning up to $16,400 -- saw the largest drop in uninsured rates. Prior to Obamacare, some 21.6% of these vets lacked coverage. By 2015, this share fell to 12.2%. The declines were largest in the states that expanded Medicaid.

Veterans who qualify for subsidies on the Obamacare exchanges -- a single person earning up to $47,500 -- also saw declines. Some 10.6% were uninsured in 2013, but only 6.6% were two years later.

Veterans' families also benefited from Obamacare. The uninsured rate among spouses fell to 5.5% from 9.2%, while the rate among children fell to 2.9% from 4.5%.

The majority of uninsured vets were older than age 45, and half of them worked full-time.

Veterans and their children would suffer - no surprise that so many pro death Republicans like Sirk applaud this.

That's because Trump's plan is a disaster:

We begin today’s roundup with Paul Krugman’s analysis of the latest attempt to dismantle the Affordable Care Act:

Again and again, we read news reports to the effect that Republicans are closing in on a plan that will break the political deadlock. They’ll repeal the Obamacare taxes and block-grant Medicaid! No, they’ll make insurance cheaper by eliminating the coverage requirements! Or, the latest idea being floated, they’ll let insurance companies raise premiums on people with pre-existing conditions and compensate by creating special high-risk pools!
And each time the plan turns out to have a fatal flaw. Millions will lose coverage; or they’ll keep coverage, but it will become so threadbare it’s almost worthless; or premiums will skyrocket for the most needy unless vast sums — hundreds of billions of dollars — are devoted to those high-risk pools. [...]
And because the task Republicans have set for themselves is basically impossible, their ongoing debacle over health care isn’t about political tactics or leadership. Even if Donald Trump were the great deal maker he claims to be, or Paul Ryan the policy wonk he poses as, this thing just can’t work.
Eugene Robinson dives into what makes this plan even worse than the last one:
House Republicans are apparently ready for yet another attempt to snatch health insurance away from constituents who need it. Someone should remind Speaker Paul Ryan of a saying often attributed to his legendary predecessor Sam Rayburn: “There’s no education in the second kick of the mule.” [...]

But you speak as someone riding a mental train wreck who is gone insane over politics.

Here's a clue... there is nor ever will be a political solution for the ills of mankind.

It's sad that you don't know that, but God made His Word available to you so you are without excuse.

To be honest, at the end of the day ain't nobody cares about obama, trump, hillery, pootin, or any of the rest of 'em cause in the end they're all irrelevant.

Jesus is what really matters and somehow you don't seem to talk about Him much... out of the abundance of a man's heart the mouth speaks.

Looks like congress is going to make a try at another healthcare law. The CBO has done some calculations and the only person who will lose coverage is peacenik.

GOP rep booed at town hall for saying healthcare isn’t a 'basic human right'
By Rebecca Savransky - 04/20/17 09:14 AM EDT

Rep. Raúl Labrador (R-Idaho) faced boos from a town hall audience while defending his views that healthcare is not a "basic human right."

"I just don't think it's a right to have healthcare," Labrador said Wednesday in response to a question about healthcare reform and increasing costs, according to The Associated Press.

People reportedly gathered outside of the town hall hours before it started and shouted for the congressman to "do your job."

The Idaho Republican started the event by saying "I am super popular tonight," according to the news service.

During the event, people also asked questions about topics related to holding President Trump accountable.

While that pol and other deluded members of the pro death far right say there shouldn't be any health care, they forget that the USA signed the UN Declaration:

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) (text) is a declaration adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948 at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris, France.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Declaration_of_Human_Rights

UNITED NATIONS UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS

. . . . .

Article 25.

(1) Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.
(2) Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. All children, whether born in or out of wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.

therefore, contrary to the right wing delusionalism, everyone in the US is entitled to such coverage - those of us in the true pro life camp all agree ;)

Yes, we all know that your continued vindictiveness, recriminatory words, projections, and endless hate are all examples of someone with very little self regard (refer to links I have previously provided just to make a point). As such, you fail to realize that such low opinions of one self are proof of weakness. By contrast, forgiveness (which is a biblical commandment) is a sign of strength. As such I forgive you because of your obviously low self esteem and pray that you will soon see the Light of Truth and repent of such misdeeds.

Meanwhile, BACK ON TOPIC:

WH officials: Busy week, but no health care vote or shutdown

It's been a busy weekend inside the West Wing of the White House, with all hands on deck planning for five highly consequential days of President Donald Trump's administration this week.

Conversations with senior administration officials and Republicans close to the White House offer CNN this lay of the land and a reality check:

 • No House vote on health care is expected this week. Despite a flurry of activity last week, there is no expectation of a vote actually happening before Friday. Officials would still like to see a vote happen, and the White House might still talk about it in the coming days, but legislative action is "highly unlikely, and we know that," one official says. A senior administration official said there is now less pressure to get a vote to repeal and replace Obamacare this week. Last week, White House and congressional sources said the White House was eager to make another run at the issue before Trump reached "100 days" in office, despite concerns among GOP leaders that the votes simply weren't there in the House. "If we have the votes it will happen. If not will keep working," the official said.
 • The government will not shut down, officials said.

This comes as a surprise since so much activity had been promised in the previous week. But perhaps someone in the GOP will come up with an alternate health care plan as the public has been calling for during the past 8+ years.

My 2 cents:
The Government needs to get out of healthcare completely, it is not a right and the Constitution did not delegate such things to the Government.
If I could vote on this closed poll, I would vote no. Obamacare must be repealed and healthcare go back to the people and the free market. Canada has socialist government healthcare and quite a few Canadians come here for healthcare. Just goes to show that, while there needs to be some improvements, our system was doing a good job before the government wanted to dip it's sticky greedy fingers in.
