I agree with Bill O'Reilly politically so I really don't care if he sexually harasses women or not. Now if he was a liberal that would be a different story...
Dont think anyone here has said that ....

Some of the offenses spoken of are "old News," however, surely the FALLOUT is as recent as it gets concerning those who purchase ad time during his Program....

This is all old news. This all happened years ago. I remember fox news reporting on it myself, probably 12 years ago. No new claims are made. Sounds like Rachel Madcow is behind it, she can't beat him in that time slot. Just like Madcow making a big deal about Trumps 2005 tax return, that had already been reported on previously.

So many people watch his program... he won't have any problems getting new advertisers.

He's far above other news channels in terms of numbers of viewers tuning is, so this won't be an issue

Fox News should fire him for his disgraceful behavior.

Has he been proven guilty? At the core of this is the presumption of innocence.

Actually, I'm a big fan of the Factor and have been for years. No, I don't believe that his guilt has been proven. What is known is that millions of dollars have been spent in various sexual harassment settlements.

Sometimes it's a lot cheaper to settle than to fight.

I can't say I'm a fan of the guy or his show, but I do respect him in some capacity. He knows what he's talking about.

This story conflates things a bit, but it raises an interesting point: Have we truly normalized sexual assault and harassment?

Your question itself implies we have normalized assuming that men are guilty of sexual assault.

As for sexual assault itself, we really need clear evidence to know whether people are indifferent about -it- or simply indifferent about -claims without evidence-

Given how sympathetic and protective people are of women in the west, I would guess no, but that does not apply to subcultures which can have their own norms. The internet is full of vastly diverse subcultures. And various industries and workplaces develop distinct cultures too.

Really, we need a lot more honesty as a society in order to tackle your question.

I don't know this specific case
... but I was listening to the radio earlier this year... they were interviewing teenage boys, and they all said something along these lines:

"If I touch a girls breasts and she says no, that just means she is trying to pretend she doesn't want it, but I know she does, so I do it anyway"

So basically, if you don't stab the guy touching your breast, crotch whatever, you are apparently "consenting"
Not to excuse that way of thinking, but I have to wonder if -all- the boys said that, or if they just left out the ones that said otherwise.

If it would be a mistake to assume all women want to have their boundaries pushed, it might also be a mistake to assume all men want to push them.

So? There being ONE man out there thinking that way means that ONE man might one day rape someone
(same if it was a girl)

If ONE man said "I want to kill you"
would you think that was OK because most didn't?

Yeah, not too sure about that one............no, seriously...........Now, he does know he's talking.......'cuz he talks 'n' talks 'n' talks.....

ONE EXAMPLE: Couple of years ago, he stated "No one, in America, has done MORE THAN ME to defend Christianity."

When I heard that...........I almost shot my T.V. Seriously Billy Boy? What about the thousands of Ordained Ministers who have dedicated their entire lives to serving God? Billy Graham and dozens, and dozens of others?

Nobody has said anything like that... it's NOT ok to physically assault someone, male or female.

But to look at the other side of your question... If ONE man said "I want to kill you"... is it ok to assume that ALL men want to kill you, because that one man did?

Just because some men are sexual pigs does not mean that all men are. And, as has been mentioned, our society tends to ASSUME guilt on the part of the man, if an accusation is made.

Remember the girl that accused that university soccer team of gang rape a few years back? Those young men were castigated in the press, found guilty in the eyes of much of our society, because people ASSUMED they had done it... because they were "young men"... and we ALL know what young men do....

Turns out the girl made the whole thing up... after weeks (months?) of sticking to her heart-rending story..

He is egotistical, I agree. On the subject of politics, specifically, I still have to concede that he's well versed.

That sounds quite a bit like a Trump-ism; "Nobody loves Mexicans more than I do...".

If you'll look in my post which you quoted, you'll see it starts with 'not to excuse that way of thinking'.

I agree with Bill O'Reilly politically as well. No one, especially someone of his stature should ever sexually harass women but if he were a liberal there most likely would not be any lawsuits. The truth is, anyone can claim that somebody did something to them whether it's true or not. It is often expedient to just pay the person off and get on with life. Usually, it's almost always about the money.

I only watched him a few times many years ago when Obama was up for re-election I think. I found him very interesting to listen to but I also got the sense that he has a very pushy, bossy personality so it doesn't surprise me that some women claim he tried to coerce them into being alone with him.
