Part of the problem is that God never intended for 38 million people to live in California.
Why do people insist on living in a place where there is no ready availble water?

Because all the "beautiful people" are there?

Lol, Thank you Mr. Obvious. You're not speaking of the northern part of the state, of course, but the more heavily populated southern portion. Good enouh. I nominate you for Barbara Boxer's replacement in the Senate. So true.

You are right, the northern part is beautiful and could support more people, but most of the population wants to live in the south and steal water from the north.
Me replace Boxer? I'm a Christian, Tea Party Conservative. I would never make the ballot.

They would have no one to exploit for cheap labor and much more. It might be better to round up the lazy mooches, and deport them in place of the people they exploit.

I wonder how much water 50,000 injection fracking wells use - 12 wells?

California Orders Oil Companies To Stop Drilling Near Drinking Water Supplies | ThinkProgress

And there is the little problem of the poison waste getting into drinking water.

Quote from article "Wastewater from drilling and fracking operations has also been causing trouble in California. Recent reports have revealed that California regulators gave oil companies permission to inject chemical-laden water into drinkable water sources underground. A San Francisco Chronicle investigation in February found that the state allowed companies to drill more than 170 waste-disposal wells into aquifers suitable for drinking or irrigation."

Sounds like the perfect calamity is taking shape because of greed and corruption. Wonder what fracking chemicals taste like?

when money makes, the world go round, and to hell, with the next generation.(green house affect)

just out of interest,, they have been drilling for oil and gas for years.

my point , what damage have they already caused , for the world,(holes are made in the world, when they drill deep holes) and the environment.
ie gas and oil to petrol, etc etc. (these things burn and making carbon dioxide)

Really, I know you cannot make these projections. The right economic conditions do not necessarily equate to technological innovation.

However, I do fantasize about how far along our technology would be were it not for certain economic programs. Maybe we would have mass desalinization or amazing moisture trapping technology. That is how we go about subduing the earth.

But hey, the world will never know. The trumpeter swan is protected and that should be sufficient.

Well if Obama and his libtards succeed in helping Iran to become a first world nuclear power with MIRV missiles that can read half way around the world all the way to suitcase nuclear bombs one of their terrorist proxies can waltz right in, then dehumanization might be in the cards putting water well... no people means... you get the idea.

I think I read that in Lamentations..............can't remember the specific verse right now........but it was like......Woe unto ye liberal wing nuts who by the millions populate a desert I intended for the creatures gravely endangered............ye shall thirst and not be quenched........something like that...........OR, maybe not...... :)

Yeah, I'd go with the "maybe not" here.

BTW...........not making light of the problem California peoples are facing...........it is a serious problem, and I know some folks out there. Am trying to convince them to MOVE! And to do so BEFORE a "flood" of movers rise up and property values plummet.

They are considering it, so that's hopeful.

Vineyard owners are considering moves to Oregon and Washington. Many corporations -- most notably TransAmerica which is now a California company pretty much in name only -- have already left. The exodus will grow in the near future. No one is going to put up with that nonsense for very long, especially as it gets more and more nonsensical.

Anyone with a J O B that can relocate to an equitable J O B in another area would be advised to pack their bags; however, obviously if you've built a small business here and would lose your all of your customers leaving you without income starting over that's another matter. For some, it's just better to ride the pony into the sunset. That's what I'm doing. When the riots start, I'll post entertaining pictures for Desdichado to enjoy.
