umm according to the posts above, from someone who saw the video, he was asked to go away but he kept pushing....

I haven't seen the video, but if that is true, then he broke the law.

He was assaulted he did not touch anyone, they were blocking his path as he walked.

Only that's not exactly what happened. This preacher kept approaching people and trying to talk to them and they kept telling him I don't want to talk to you, leave me alone.
they kept telling him that he wasn't wanted there and they wanted him to leave
He was on public property and there is no law against talking to people on the street and when they turned their backs he left them.

LGBT if I had to put up with a lot of hatred and bigotry for the religious right so it stands to reason that he didn't receive a warm welcome
Like that preacher from Florida who was literally calling for the death of LGBT people and somehow he didn't go to jail but anyway....
So after idiots like this guy get banned from Facebook for spewing hate speech they cry foul like they're the victim

maybe not this particular preacher but I encounter Christians everyday on social media who are very hateful and toxic people.
like that idiot in Florida who was literally promoting killing lgbtq people
so I can understand why they probably didn't want to talk to him.
also if people don't want to be bothered with you then leave them alone. Walk away and wipe the dust from your feet. that's literally what that scripture means

And he did and they were blocking his path.

And he has ministered to people in that section of town so kudos for Him for believing that there could be someone in the crowd that will respond to God's love....but I agree there is a time to move on.

If you think preaching against homosexuality and or the gospel is hate speech, you have no business on this site pal nor do you have sliver of biblical honesty in you........

So are we praying for this pastor and congregation? We all know what is coming. The signs of the times are shouting it out to us.
Very few churches are out there on the streets like this.
Is the church at large, in the US and Canada, going to be lukewarm, apathetic, and lackadaisical?
If we are not praying for this issue at large, then, well, it may be safe to say we are at a lower spiritual level then we may want to admit.

Again, it was a public street, they had no authority to tell him to leave, they do not own public property.
Mr. Dude is not telling the full story.
He broke no law.

a police officer does have the authority to tell someone to leave if he is causing a disturbance.

But was it really a disturbance? Or was it the officer himself, or his higher ups telling him they dont want it?
Remember, whenever they can, the LE will make it as hassle free and easy for themselves, even if it means bending the letter and spirit of the law, as they can.
Not actually criticizing them for that. I think most of us would do the same thing. Err on the side of caution. Just saying it's not always about doing what is fair and equitable.

the officer did his job and use discretion because he knew things would likely get out of hand if this guy didn't leave.

Oh really!!! I guess is depends on how offensive or unpolitically correct the disturbance is.....I suggest you watch video footage of of when the Raptors won the championship... Too funny

anyway the headline is misleading because he wasn't arrested for preaching, he was arrested for disturbing the peace after he had been told multiple times to leave
