Pepsi's okay, but I've always preferred Dr. Pepper. Coke is a fairly close second, though.

Edit: I've never tried Palestinian coke, so I can't comment on it.

Coca-Cola Celebrates Islamic Jihad With Ramadan Ad Campaign

NTEB News Desk | July 1, 2014

Have a Coke and a bomb blast!

Coca-Cola has jumped on the let’s-bring-sharia-law-to-America bandwagon with it’s latest commercial celebrating the Islamic month of Ramadan. Here is the official commercial from their YouTube page:
What Coca-Cola doesn’t mention in their new ad is that in Muslim tradition, the month of Ramadan is also the time where Allah grants military victories to his followers through jihad.

A special Ramadan communique issued by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of Fatah, stated: “The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, in the month of victory and strength, the blessed month of Ramadan, conveys its finest blessings of Jihad to the Arab and Islamic nation in general and to the Palestinian people standing at the [battle] front in particular. In addition, on the occasion of the blessed month, they send their blessings to all fighters of the Palestinian people, headed by the fighters of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.
“We call upon you to intensify your Jihad attacks against the enemy wherever it may be throughout the beloved homeland… Oh, our people… swear to continue to be loyal always to the blood of the martyrs, to bear a blessing in this tremendous month of Ramadan, the month of victories. Our martyrdom operations and operations of quality will continue.”
Now, if you are honest, when you watched that commercial weren’t you waiting for someone to run into frame screaming “allahu ackbar!” and blow that happy family gathering to pieces? Because that is the true face of Islam, if you’re honest.

There is so much factually wrong with this hate-rant, I don't know where to begin.
Let's start with... It's against Islamic law to do pretty much ANYTHING during Ramadan during the day. You're not allowed to eat anything, you're not supposed to work unless it's necessary for your family's survival, you're not supposed to really exercise and you're definitely not supposed to stage a military operation. So, no, you're just wrong. On every level. That's like saying a company celebrating the Cherry Blossom Festival wants Japan to come take us over. It's crazy and ignorant.

I am a lady... so I won't win the battle of the wits here.
Many gals here would take offense at that 'sexist' statement but the Taliban would agree :) .

This post is in the right forum and it is significant because ads are part of mainstream culture and often shape popular opinion.( see post by 1_stillwaters.)

Before the ad campaigns of the 50's/60's , the youth culture as we know it did not exist.People valued what age and experience brought to the table more than mere good looks or youth.James Dean and others made rebellion, smoking and being cool en vogue and youthfulness and being young has been idolized till present.

Also, fasting during Ramadan does not mean that one is not allowed to eat or drink at all - it just means that one abstains from food and or drink during DAYLIGHT. From sunset to sunrise a Muslim is allowed to eat and drink freely.

Seriously? This is kind of nonsense which gives fuel to the Arabs and Muslims to prove Americans are extreme racists who hate all muslims.

This Advert, well its not in English is it, its not being show on US TV is it? It is obviously to be broadcast across all the Arab and Muslim nations.

The market for soft drinks in these nations is enormous, especially when you consider that alcohol is banned in most places, so what is wrong with likes of Coke making adverts for its target audience in other countries?

I will only resume drinking their products if I hear that they are also making commercials that celebrate other holy observances, including those held by Christians and Buddhists, and other religions, but Christmas does not count for me, because even heathens celebrate something on Christmas. I'm thinking more along the lines of Advent or if the monks or holy men of Asia observe something for an extended period of time, center an advertisement on that. I say this because I don't think the ad is so much pro-Islam as it is hopefully pro-universal oneness and definitely pro-whatever commercial will make us more money. Thus if they actually visibly maintain that no religion deserves special favour, they can have my measly moneys. Otherwise, I will just let Pepsi scam me for my wallet.

Talk about cutting nose off to spite face, you might want to re-consider the Pepsi option as well, as they are competitive with Coca-Cola globally. Here is the Ramadan advert for Pepsi.

You might also want to check all the companies selling products in Islamic countries, as you can be sure they will all also be jumping on the Ramadan advertising bandwagon.

I don't know whose nose or face you are talking about, but while I did assume that it was a true possibility there were other companies who shared the same marketing finesse as the one originally in discussed in this thread, I wasn't going to seek them out when I have pushups and situps to do. But since your kind soul brought it to my attention I am happy to live without either brand. Those other companies? Unless someone names them for me I'll be blissfully ignorant of the issue, working on a sixpack that is not made of soda.

So you do not take it as seriously as you make out then. I guess if you stick to your boycott of all companies who produce adverts for Ramadan then you will starve to death and not have anything to wear
