I'm glad you listen, thank you

The only wasted vote is one that is cast for more of the same yet somehow expecting change

Go back to that list of Christian values and the fruit of the Spirit. Being against abortion and sexual immorality does NOT give you a pass to violate everything else.

I get that because far too many think being against abortion and sexual immorality gives you a pass to violate everything else. IE, people vote for republicans because they're against abortion and sexual immorality while violating everything else.

Ok, so instead of talking past each other lets take that one subject as a for instance. Under Trump, Roe v Wade was stopped. 11 states now have laws preventing abortion at a certain stage in life. It's made it much more difficult to get an abortion.

When we were coming up to election the last time around our church and others in our area, all went to our capitol building. Several pastors spoke and someone spoke against abortion. Then we began to circle the building. I have never seen nor experienced anything like it. It was totally quiet except for people praying or softly singing as they walked in groups around the building. No talking, no laughing, just peaceful walking. As I came around the back of the building a large group laid their hands on the building and prayed against abortion. I can't tell you how long we were there. Then there was a second time where my husband and I went to a gathering against abortion at the capitol. Nearest the front of the building people were praying and singing, talking about saving babies lives and down at the end of the steps nearest to the road women for abortion were literally screaming and cussing into the microphone about their rights.

Since 73 when Wade was passed over 60 million, the population of Canada, babies have been murdered in their mothers womb. No one ever imagined that we could stop that flow of innocents being murdered. I don't believe there is a greater sin America is guilty of (other than rejecting Christ) than the murder of innocent, helpless babies. Please explain to me why this was not an important thing to vote for? To stand against and vote for the anti abortion candidate. I can't understand that reasoning.

Once again....

Mammon worship, cheating workers, self idolatry, abandoning the poor sick and foreign, and embracing lies and hypocrisy are not Christian values. trump and his magas embody all of these

The fruit of the Holy Spirit are love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. trump and his magas embody none of these

WHO is being deceived? Certainly isn't me. I'm the voice of one in the desert calling out the warning.

So you vote according to how many fruits of the spirit you perceive a person embodies?

Does that mean you personally? Are you a Trump supporter? If so, may I assume from your answer the only reason you support him is because he's Republican?
Sorry I must have missed this reply before. and just now saw it.

You should not assume anything. Has more to do with the Democrat Party being too tainted and outright in the service of Satan than any particular merit of the GOP. To vote for the Democrat Party when they're this evil and openly in defiance of God would be an automatic excommunication from the body of Christ. Whoever is the Unholy Democrat Party's biggest enemy should be the GOP nominee, and that appears to be President Trump, though we are open to hearing out other GOP contenders in the primary debates with an open mind.

You continue to conflate so many issues.
Perhaps study the role of government and how the USA is a nation based on the rule of law.

You argument is I do not vote because the parties are not pure enough for me based on the gifts of the Spirit.
It is not possible to legislate love.

I would prefer to vote for a party that at least gets a very important issue right than get nothing right at all.
That you minimize abortion to make your point seem larger is very troubling.

Wow, you really are sticking to that self righteousness and arrogance! Why a nasty and judgmental comment! You're exactly what you accuse others of being. smh
I have noticed that people like @true_believer and @JTB ... like to assume this high moral ground and weaponize it against Trump but they never want to address Trump's record while in office directly.

What helped me when I first got baptized was Paul's word about "I have not yet attained but I press on". No one in this life has attained. The question is not whether or not you are sinless and holy, the question is are you pressing onward and upward or are you sliding downhill. Are you the ones who see the man on the side of the road and cross to the other side, or are you the good samaritan that does something about it.

I'm not assuming, that's why I asked.

I'll just say it: Putting someone in office solely on the basis of they are the enemy of my enemy is very immature and shortsighted. Granted, the Democrat party leaves a lot to be desired but they're not going away no matter how much I'd like them to. The only way I'd vote for someone is if I thought they were qualified for the office, not because they are an avowed enemy of my enemy; or because they promise to be a "savior." No human being can solve all the world's ills; thinking they can is the stuff of fantasy.

Well they're not the enemy of my enemy, they're just the enemy of God. We're not looking for someone to solve all the world's problems, we're just looking for someone to crush Satan's children, PRAISE JESUS!

https://nypost.com/2023/07/22/trump-dominates-gop-field-beating-biden-in-general-election-poll/

According to the latest opinion polls President Trump handily commands the GOP field, with DeSantis lagging behind him by over 40 points, and the opinion polls show that Trump even beats Biden in a hypothetical match-up by about 5 points. Granted a lot can happen between now and then to change minds, but it should not be considerred too strange that people support Trump when he is the clear frontrunner to take on the Unholy Democrats who in 3 short years have brought America to the brink of disaster in multiple ways on top of drawing the ire of God himself against the country. This is also reflected in the poll that the majority of Americans do not believe the country is on the right track after these disastrous 3 years, and that's without even questioning the implications of the Democrat regime that came to power by dubious means via a rigged election and murdering 4 peaceful protestors on the Capitol grounds, taking political prisoners, and lying about it. May God put these corrupt Democrat malefactors away soundly, PRAISE JESUS!

So you vote according to how many fruits of the spirit you perceive a person embodies?
And how many Christian values they embody.

Which when you talk about republicans and democrats, puts me firmly in the neither of the above column.

They're not conflated, they're related.

I don't support abortion or sexual immorality.

But I'm not going to give someone a pass on mammon worship, cheating workers, self idolatry, abandoning the poor sick and foreign, et al, just because they oppose abortion. Nor am I going to give them a pass on bearing none of the fruit of the Spirit just because they oppose abortion.

Do you really support a whole host of sins, just because they oppose one sin?

That's not a moral high ground, that's taking in the big picture, and realizing that supporting the lesser evil IS STILL SUPPORTING EVIL.

Let me posit this question:

Everyone would like to see peace between the Arabs and Israelis. Trump has made moves in that direction, which many here applaud. When he wins in '24 (and he WILL win), if trump brokers such a peace will you applaud that?

OK, now go study what scripture says about the person who does finally achieve that peace.

Are you still going to applaud trump bringing that peace, at the price of ignoring what scripture says about it?

The verses are not at all clear that the Antichrist negotiates peace, it could be that he simply takes credit for the peace. His proclamation of "peace and security" does not in any way say it is a peace treaty in the middle east, that is an inference without any Biblical verse that you can clearly hang that on.

What is clear is that the proclamation of peace and security is a lie, and it is also clear that the Jews will rebuild the temple in the beginning of the 70th week (seven year period) and that Antichrist will stop the offerings and set himself up in that temple.
