Have you seen this story in the news? No you haven't. You've seen "white couple points guns at protesters". No one in the MSM wants you to know this couple was trying to defend their home against "protesters" who were on private property. Now the gentleman has had to board up his business. They called for the cops and surprise, no one came. Looks like we're headed back to the old west.

I tried to watch the video. Sadly, there were so many stupid ads that it was impossible. Every time I tried to replay the video, I'd get another series of ads and the video simply wouldn't stream properly. Thanks for trying but no kudos to the host site!

A heads up to all. Please know what your state laws say concerning self defense and defense of property. These laws vary greatly state to state. In some states the intruder must have entered your home before you can legally defend yourself. Some are written so that you can defend your property outside but on your personal property. Take the time, do your own research and be darn sure you know what you may or may not do legally.
Good advice. My wife and I took the CCW class a little while back and we learned a lot about state laws in regards to being a gun owner. If you shoot someone and the jury does not see it as legitimate self defense, then you are going to prison! Be responsible and know your state laws! The teacher of our class said in some cases, a slick lawyer may convince the jury that it was not self defense when it actually was, but he said he would still rather be judged by 12 than carried out by 6.

This has nothing to do with what the Bible says; it's just hyping secular violence. What happened to not killing, loving your neighbor, turn the other cheek, etc? I trust God and do what Jesus said to do and killing isn't one of them.
I feel sorry for your family if you refuse to defend them.

Apparently not....Cops were threatened to take off riot gear to go into a shoot out between protesters....I mean how long do you think cops are going to keep risking their lives with all this going on. They are getting shafted on every end because of a few bad cops.

And just where did you see me advocate for killing someone?????? I said protecting yourself.
Please! I am a gun owner and user; I know what they're for. Guns have one main purpose (aside from target shooting): kill what you're aiming at. The euphemism of "protecting yourself" is baloney. The only way to protect yourself with a gun is to pull the trigger.

Again, how do "love your neighbor as yourself" and "do to others what you would have them do to you..." not apply?

So you would let people enter your home and let them do whatever to your family?

And I feel sorry for the people who are threatened or shot or killed by gun-owning civilians who take the law into their own hands.

I have no sympathy for any one who threatens another with harm who is shot and killed.
If any one enters my home and threatens my family, they will die. Plain and simple.
I will deal with the consequences later.

Christians would be remiss in keeping God's Word, 'if they were NOT DEFENDING their
'family/neighbors'...
'what's next'??? after the burning of cities???

Were you there? If not, why do you label facts as "media spin"? I think I know the answer -- Trump's propaganda.
The reason for your presence here is now seen. I'll add you to my list

This is always good to know but under civil unrest and if the police are gone, it will be survival. Many of the liberal self-defense laws only hurt the innocent.

So you own a gun....what is the purpose that you have a gun... is it just for target shooting. I own guns too. I am a woman and my guns are for the main purpose of self defense.

Most of the time the presence of a gun can be a big deterrent....Unless someone is totally crazy they don't usually try to attack someone when they have a gun pointed at them.

But let's suppose you see your neighbor getting attacked by a mob...Are you going to try to help them or just walk on by and pray for them once you get to safety. Again suppose this was you and your family getting attacked would you want your neighbor to help or just walk on by while you were being attacked....How would you want your neighbor to treat you and your family in that type of situation???? Just asking....

Why don't you accept the teachings and example set by Jesus? Why did he go to the cross instead of killing his enemies?
Self defense is biblical, do you have a wife, a daughter are you telling me you would not defend them against being assaulted?

Being persecuted for our faith is different than self defense... there are many cases in scripture where people defend themselves.

Jesus’s disciples carried swords, even after three years of traveling with Jesus.

I'll have to check into that. Thanks also to 1ofthem.

The couple that it happened to were interviewed. The husband said he was afraid for their lives. They were threatened. The "peaceful protesters" broke down a gate and were on private property.

when the police do not respond, as has been happening, there is no law

when marauders canvas private neighborhoods hoping to do harm and the police do not stop them, there is no law

when buildings are burned and looted there is no law

when police cars are vandalized there is no law

when hooligans throw bricks and bottles and incendiary devices at police there is no law

when a mayor cancels the police and then pays for private protection for herself from public funds, there is no law

I could go on, but I don't think you are much of a listener

personally, I don't feel sorry for anyone shot trying to invade a private house to cause bodily harm or steal. that person is doing the will of his father, the devil

you do not have to shoot to kill, but, if you are charged by a knife wielding individual, I would say that individual gets what they are asking for

Do you have the book of Revelation in the back of your Bible? For that matter do you have a Bible?

Read what Jesus does to His enemies. Read the Old Testament. Alot of killing goes on at God's directions. You are interpreting scripture to create a false narrative. Read what Paul wrote concerning the end of those who thumb their noses at God. Read Romans 1.

You are way out of line and trying to make God sound like a simpering coward. Guns do not have to kill. If you say guns are only for killing, once again you are creating a false narrative. If a policeman is a Christian and he/she shoots someone, in your story he is sinning? There is no sin for him if the shot is warranted and no sin for the person using a gun for the same reason.

I would like to see someone like you stand by while his family is molested, his wife raped and perhaps killed while you recited 'Our Father' from the side. Protecting oneself is a natural reaction. Denying that reaction indicates something lacking in your understanding both of scripture and the natural desire of a man to protect what is his.
