As I posted earlier, cracking down on corporate price gouging is neither "price control" nor communist.

It's no different than busting companies or people for gouging during natural disasters.

And communist governments don't crack down on corporate practices because there are no private businesses in communism!

Because they're not. Some folks seem to define communism as "anything the government does that I don't like".

Let's see your evidence for that.
The high prices are a result of many things, not just price gouging, How do you determine what Gouging is. as apposed to just the cost of doing business.

1 of the issues that resulted in high prices are the unions. I use GM as an example. My father retired from GM and I was all pro anything chevy, however, their product went downhill. The prices went up while the quality went down. When you got right down to it, they were paying people 100,000.00 a year to turn a screwdriver on a line. How were they even suppose to compete with other companies that did not pay their workers this much? they could not. they had to buy cheaper parts. And ended up closing a bunch of stores. In Fact, they ended up going bankrupt. I would not buy a chevy now for nothing.

2. Workers wages. Fast food workers demanded higher waged. They finally were given them, but someone has to pay for this,, so now we have prices of fast food tripled in just a few short years

3. The stock market. I work for a global diesel company. My company used to be owned by a local men who ran his company as a customer focused business. This kept prices down. and kept us competitive, About 5 years ago. the mother company bought all of the local distributors out to make us one big happy family. the problem is it is owned by the "system" and instead of being a customer focused business, out business is making our stockholders happy by making them money. This is actually the second company I have worked for that had this happen (K-Mart went to this kind of business and bought a few companies out like builders square, which I worked for while going to college) and both ended up crashing and burning, because they could not compete.

4. The biggest issue is handouts, No one wants to work, because they get paid to stay at home. Its amazing they say unemployment is down, yet I have had multiple positions open for year. and my wife and keep people in her business, because no one wants to work,

5. Don't even get me started on Healthcare..

6. Finally we have the banking system. Give people loans they really can;t afford.. in doing so you make yourself richer, and people can charge more for their products, and make themselves richer, and it is a market that is out of tough with reality, But due to the greed of the people. who refuse to fight high prices, because why fight, I can get a loan, prices will nto come down due to greed.

this issue is just like the church has lost its way, in being a family, a body of people.. it has become more individualistic. Thats what has happened to this country. It is all about me,, Thats why LGBTQ has gone off the charts. thats why Black lives matters and Antifa did what they did in the name of what they wanted. (and by the way, both democrats running for pres/vice president, were pro these riots. In fact, we have kamila on tape saying she was for them, they had a mission, and she hoped they continued.

The democrats aren't really communists, even the edgelords that say they are communist aren't really communist. If anything they're the most corrupt by the corporations. After all Trump gave all the people money and created a good economic environment for all Americans, but the democrats spent trillions in pure kickbacks to the corporations and foreign nations and none of that money benefitted the American people in any way whatsoever but actually made the economic situation worse. The democrats are not communist, they're just plain old corrupt.
Your right, democrats as a party are not communist, or socialist. But they have a group of people within them that are. Sadly, they are the ones running the democrat party right now.

Literally Biden's first year in office, his ironically named Inflation Reduction Act, and all that money he gave to Iran and Ukraine. It might help if you do your own homework by the way. If you can't see how they spent trillions of dollars and it all went into the hands of their mega-corporate partners and foreign nations and the American people have not seen any tangible benefits but have actually seen a decrease in their living standard then I think just let you alone so that your blind guides might lead you into the ditch with them.
Biden was comprimised. and sadly he was protected by the system, so he could not be impeached.. He had no choice in giving money to China and others. because he did illegal things for them when he was vice president.

And this is supposed to help me understand how?
It shows that inflation isn't tied to anything specific to the US, and when comparing how we've managed it versus other countries, we've done extremely well (namely bringing inflation down to less than 3% without going through a recession).

Are you aware that this is not true
No, I'm not aware of that. What info do you have? I'd like to see it.

EVERYTHING costs so much more than it did 4 years ago Inflation has not dropped the economy is not better.
The target inflation rate is around 2%. Maintaining that rate is good in a capitalist economy. Right now we're at around 2.9%.

So I should believe this more than what I witness with my own eyes?
You can't witness the national or global economy with your own eyes. To assess those things, you need macro data.

Thanks :)

However, when you listen to trump speak over the past decade, you would know trump does not follow his dads racism.
I guess we'll just disagree on that. When I see Trump not able to grasp someone being biracial (she "turned black"), saying a judge can't be fair because he's of Latino heritage, when he kicks off his political career by engaging in birtherism about Obama, when he tries to scare people by posting that the suburbs will be overrun by well....brown people.

All that and more, plus his having to pay a settlement for discriminating against blacks in his real estate (including having his employees use a special code on applications from black people), to me paints a very consistent picture.

You can;t say this about Kamila,, Everything she has ever said just proves she is her fathers child
Like what?

lol.. Not sure what you are seeing, But I have seen alot.. The problem is, you will nto see it on the maintstream news. They hide this stuff, Like they hid how bad Biden was.
If you don't have any info to post, there's nothing for me to consider, is there?

Lasst I looked, the price of things has gone up way more than 3%

If you think this is all things have gone up. Your buying into the narrative and not looking at reality

No, I'm not aware of that. What info do you have? I'd like to see it.
Go to McDonalds,

Go to a car dealership

Go to by a house.

and look at how much prices have increased in the last 3 years.

Look At interest rates which are used as a tool to try to bring down or steady inflation. and see how not only have interest rates risen, but the cost of things never slowed or came down. they kept rising..

stop listing to the main stream news..

Sorry, But this is not correct.. This would be an amazing fact. but the fact just do not prove it.. .

Thats what they want you to believe.. Keep buying the lie.

You have bought into the liberal lie.

lol. Look at the people has has by his side.

He has done more for the inner city than any democrat ever has.

He called out kamila on a few years ago. pushing her indian heritage, and now she has reversed.. She can;t make up her mind
DOn;t even get me started on Obama, the greatest traitor in my view this country has ever seen.

I will say one thing about you. You always give me something to laugh about. thank you

2.9% is the current rate of inflation; it's not the total sum of inflation.

No one is saying prices haven't gone up. Like we covered already, post-pandemic inflation was a global phenomenon.

Look At interest rates which are used as a tool to try to bring down or steady inflation. and see how not only have interest rates risen, but the cost of things never slowed or came down. they kept rising..
Again, in a capitalist economy 2% inflation is considered a good target rate. We're at 2.9% now and the rate has been consistently falling for some time. So the interest hikes did as planned, which is why they're likely to start cutting rates soon.

Sorry, But this is not correct.. This would be an amazing fact. but the fact just do not prove it.. .
If you have info showing it's false, please post it. Otherwise all you've provided is "because I say so".

I've already explained how the money was managed and overseen by Qatar and Switzerland.
Does not matter

You don't allow your enemy to get that money as long as you can, they are a threat.

But its ok, Afghanistan, the way we left. I mean we know who runs the country now. and he is muslim at heart.. But you believe what you want.

The actual Big Mac inflation from Dec. 2020 to Dec. 2023 is in the 20-25% range.

Property inflation and rent inflation is HUGE.....and don't forget to include MASSIVE tax and insurance increases.
