This wouldn't be the first time Donald Trump said something disrespectful about a veteran. Remember when he said John McCain is not a hero because he was captured?
Trump was pissed off at McCain..... That's why he said it. I'd give a dirty, no good Democrat the benefit of the doubt on that.

Oh yeah, no one has been as disrespectful to veterans then McCain. His voting record on veteran programs, funding, and warhawk nature proves that.

I live in Philly -- 5/6th Democrats and 1/6th Republicans. Republicans aren't merely a minority in city government. They're nonexistent. We've reached that point in life when they can't do anything more to us. They can't refuse us work, they can't refuse us benefits, (they'd have to give us benefits to then refuse them lol), they can't kick us out of our house, and our neighbors (who are 50/50 on political party) already know us, so won't let us be bullied.

She has 5 kids ranging from 4-20, (if it is the woman with the living room.) Yeah, they can refuse all sorts of things she needs -- schooling for her kids, a job, benefits, if she ever needs them, and neighbors.

She's thinking "my children first."

For that, I don't blame her.
Lynn... I don't understand this post.... why would the comment she made about the President's call have anything to do with her children? Are you suggesting she was paid well to publicly accuse him of being disrespectful?

My dearest Willie, that wasn't what I said.

No place did I demand elevation and admiration.

But I expect that our CiC pays the veterans respect.

I seriously don't understand how hard it can be.

Yeah, some vets are living the PTSD life and all what it carries, some are drunkards and all sorts of addicts, making their families go through a living nightmare, some snaps and spend their final moments strapped to a bed in Huntsville awaiting the needle, and some just fades away without anyone really noticing.
CiC?

I really don't see much respect for vets by government. I see respect for them by government employees trained to work with them (half the time), but not by politicians funding that care. And, I don't really see much respect by civilians other than a cursory "Thank you for your service," even when they don't like what the military does.

For instance, assuming PTSD, addiction, and criminals are what await more vets than non-vets.

What I do see is people who took from 2-20+ years out of their lives to serve -- in war or in peace -- getting bad repercussions for that. Sure, a $150,000 bed in a nursing home, but not enough thickened drinks to keep them hydrated. Sure, three endoscopes to really, really, REALLY make sure the loss of blood isn't caused by wayward blood vessels in the intestines, because some idiot decided it couldn't possibly be caused by FOUR blood thinners prescribed because some volunteer volunteered adding more info onto the patient's file. Sure, free surgery to remove both legs, but let's ignored the fact those legs went gangrened because either someone forgot to tell the patient he had diabetes or didn't counsel him but once every three months for PTSD, so why would he give up the beer? Not like he was an alcoholic. He simply didn't get the connection between the mind games, the diabetes, and the great possibility of losing both of his legs, piece by piece over the course of 6 months in a psych ward and 12 months in that hospital full of nurses who learned how to use a lift, but simply couldn't/didn't use the lift right. Added bonus -- "No, you can't ever live on your own again, but you can't live in the nursing home you've liked for 18 months either."

And then there was Bill -- the guy who already lost both legs, but came back from the VA Hospital to the VA Nursing home with an completely infected arm because he had the flu, so needed to go into the hospital for a few days. (BTW, he got the flu, because some people don't think the hand sanitizer at the front desk is for them.)

I don't see much respecting vets, especially by the government who made them vets. (Yes, I did report some of this to the Director of the VA at one point. Always ended up getting a call from a guy in the patient advocacy office telling me he can't do anything about it. Eventually, I caught the hint. Report and hubby gets treated worse.)

No, I'm suggesting either you play nice with Democratic leaders or they play dirty with you. I'm saying she was protecting her kids by playing along.

I have been trying to give Trump the benefit of the doubt due to all the rhetoric and hyperbole from the left but this is absolutely unacceptable. How does the president of the United States this disrespectful to the wife of a man who died serving his country? But he's mad because NFL players won't stand for the anthem.
Donald Trump Slammed After Allegedly Telling Fallen Soldier's Pregnant Widow Her Husband 'Knew What He Signed Up For'
Did you see the video?

the deadsoldiers wife posted a video of the phone call, the Pres was actually very very kind to her and she was definitly comforted by his call

Give me a choice between a criminal and a scoundrel and there was no choice.
I guess some think that trump Is a scoundrel but In the eyes of others he Is a model person that our children should aspire to be like,I wonder If other countries think that we all admire trump.:(

I am a staunch Trump supporter, and I do not think there is even one single person in this entire country who thinks he is "Is a model person that our children should aspire to be like."

They would do well, however to model his direct forthrightness, and the fact that he does not pander to people by saying what he thinks they want to hear. (All of this, of course with a good degree more sophistication than Trump possesses.)

I think other countries are quickly learning that we elected him because, unlike that political sell-out, Obama, he puts America and her interests, FIRST.

Change channels on your TV. You may be surprised to find that there is a whole lot that PRESIDENT Trump says every day that NEVER gets acknowledged on several cable news outlets. I'm serious. They actually do not allow you to see or hear much of what he does and says. I could hardly believe how controlling they are when I first began noticing it.

One thing I think stands out glaringly here is the fact that no one is daring to go near this widow's obvious lack of at least education, if not, outright intelligence.

And, I think that is important in understanding just how much more vulnerable that makes her to the manipulations of someone like this cowboy hat-wearing loud mouth.

and the whole time they are attacking Trump, some of them know/knew who actually ordered the fake news dossier

the depths of their lies and conspiracies are vile

I was wondering for a while what word would satisfy what I feel when some of them start running their mouths

plenty of words out there and some you don't write on a Christian forum

I have settled on vile

it suits them and what they do perfectly IMO

vile

Surely only an evil person could be so vile as to have made you so angry. Vile is something or someone so morally wrong or offensive as to be thoroughly disgusting.

Are you appalled by someone’s sordid, despicable, ugly and just generally awful behavior? Then it’s probably vile, too. One of those dramatic adjectives with many synonyms, the word vile is not only used to describe a person or an action that is morally reprehensible; it can describe a smell that is so bad as to be practically morally reprehensible — or something else that offends your senses enough to make you nauseous. Those three month old dirty gym socks? They’re vile!

Definitions of vile
1
adjmorally reprehensible

“the vile development of slavery appalled them”
Synonyms:despicable, slimy, ugly, unworthy, worthless, wretchedevilmorally bad or wrong

adjcausing or able to cause nausea

Synonyms:loathsome, nauseating, nauseous, noisome, offensive, queasy, sickeningunwholesomedetrimental to physical or moral well-being

This story, and the one about obama looking the other way while Clinton sold our uranium to Russia, is why I need to try harder to stay away from the news.

This kind of activity by a government official, use to, and I think still should, warrant the death penalty. Selling material to a foreign country, that has been for generations our enemy, sometimes hot, sometimes cold, that are essential to nuclear bombs, HAS to be a treasonous act!!

And THEN to have the unmitigated gall to try and fabricate RUSSIA - TRUMP election collusion, all the while KNOWING the evil deeds YOU did, is beyond contempt!

I'm tired of ignorant, or lazy, or in some cases evil Americans supporting these people and their party!

ok. Rant over.

I connected to him on Twitter. Unconnected after two days. He says A LOT! He makes me look quiet and reserved!
