A Charlie Hebdo-poster of a muslim kissing a cartoonist was removed at the 'Kennemer College' in Heemskerk (the Netherlands). Some students found the poster offensive, according to the head teacher Marleen Lemstra in an interview with 'De Telegraaf' (dutch newspaper). These are (islamic) vmbo-students (preparatory middle-level vocational education) age 12 to 15 who didn't understand the french text accompanying the picture: 'Love is stronger than hate.' The don't get the nuances, according to the head teacher...

The teacher (who hung the poster on a wall at school) stated he deeply regreted his action and never intended to offend anyone. He just wanted to show his solidarity for the victims of the Paris attacks, he wrote in his apology letter. (which he had to read aloud in front of every class).

Well, seems like playing the victim card once again gets things straight...what is a(n) shoot out/massacre/execution compared to an out of nuance picture on a wall. It is like the shooting never took place, now everything is about how offended certain people gets because the Western society is moaning...

Don't understand Dutch language, but just looking at the poster there on the site seems it is a wise and prudent move by the school.

Did you see the poster (assuming the poster on the site is same poster)?
Yep.Did you see the cop shot in the street while begging for his life? Did you see the blood all over the building where the 12 were shot and killed? Free speech.Muslims dont get to dictate to the world what is acceptable.Lots of jest has been made over Jesus and Christianity do I shoot people in cold blood over it? Nope.Taking down the poster because Muslims are offended is nonsense.Muslims should be offended over the fact that 12 people were killed in cold blood, plus the hostages. If they say they dont agree with radical Islam here is where you show it.

Ya I saw all that. Is it because Charlie Hebdo mocks much that he got smote to the very ground? Charlie mocks Jesus, so I will not go to fight and die for Charlie. Let him fight his own war which he did bring upon his own head.

In regards to this recent poster, islam aside, do you really think it appropriate to show something like that in a school of children?

This was college, not grade school.I knew nothing of Charlie until this terrorist mayhem happened.Do I agree with what they write,no.But if you are saying 12 people deserved to be murdered in cold blood because they mock Islam or Christianity then you are wrong. We are living in an age of grace. You cannot condone the killing of people because they disagree with your faith.God will sort that out in the end.To say the paper brought it on their own head is ridiculous! They own the paper and have a right to publish whatever they want whether you and I like it or not.No justification for what was done.None!

Didymos said the school is for kids age 12-15. This sort of poster is not appropriate in any public place. What, should children now have to die because their teachers proudly display such perversion? It is wise of the Dutch to tear down this image and make amends. They are forgiven.

Indeed Charlie Hebdo owns his own paper, and for that reason he will reap what he did sow. Behold that is exactly what happened. I am not happy they died, but the power of life and death was theirs to choose and they did choose death.

I will forgive them for insulting Jesus, but I will not fight and die for them just so they can mock our religion some more. Let them fight their own war which they did bring upon themselves.

I saw only the name "college" and missed the ages.It may not be appropriate for younger students as they would not understand it.Now you're profile says you're a Christian but your attitude is very Muslim sympathetic and one I dont understand. Why should children die if a poster is on the wall? Why are you assuming they'll be killed? Nonsense!! Utter nonsense! Muslims want to live their faith and no one to criticize muhammad then stay in their own country where everyone agrees with them. They have no right to kill people who disagree or criticize their faith.Your reasoning is wrong.

You say they chose death? Again ridiculous!! Because they posted something against the Muslim faith? How do you come to that conclusion? They brought nothing on themselves and I cant believe you are empathizing with Muslims who dont believe Jesus is the Son of God and these same people would kill you for your belief as they did to those in Paris. You dont believe in muhammad then you are an infidel according to their belief. Think about what you are saying.

Do not mistake me for a muslim. I know what islam is and how it is at war with us and how it is at war with the world. Islam does not derive its rights from the vain secularist West. Did not the secularists invite in islam and whore themselves out to all the foul abominations of the earth? Yea they did for they are against Christianity. Now the harlot and her lovers are beating eachother to death. It is not good for us to side with either of them as it is that they are destroying eachother.

Do not expect islam to respect the secularists' vain rights. It is indeed better to tear down this image than to jeopardize children's lives with some vain notion that the true followers of islam will not attack them over some vain rights. Even without islam, it is not good to display such sexual perversions anywhere in any public place.

They did indeed choose their own death. This is not the first time Charlie Hebdo has been smote for his mockery, he knew full well what would happen. That is his problem, not ours. Watch as the secularists try to hide behind their corruption that they call freedom, but the sword will find them for they have brought it into their own home. We can warn them with warnings, but they will not believe us for their spite against Christianity, even as the sword bites into their neck. Therefore all we can do is try to preserve our fellow Christians from this war and watch in astonishment as these pagans destroy eachother.

Not trying to be nasty here but if you could just use plain everyday English it would be easier to understand your posts. My point is this...If you take down posters and allow Muslims to think that you are intimidated and afraid to say anything that disagrees with them then you are emboldening them and it will never stop until we all become Muslims.Again if they want a totalitarian faith stay in Muslim countries and live that way.Dont expect us to agree and stop our lives to kowtow to your faith.

Once again they did not choose death, they chose freedom of speech. If they should be put to death for mockery then so should every other business and thats going to leave a lot of dead people in the US alone. As a Christian you should know we are living in grace. You dont have the right to murder someone who disagrees with your faith. No matter how you slice it you are wrong to say these people deserved death and brought it on themselves. As a Christian you ought to know better.

Sounds like you approve of this crime and only want free-speech for those who agree with you? Well if the muslims don't like freedom let them to place where they can be poor slaves...

Please save all this nonsense...the fact is that we have another form of Nazism rising up and we will at some point have to wake-up and fight again to defend or people and our freedom....If you don't think we still have men and woman here in the USA that are well able to defeat this evil? You don't know this country...

I know they mocked Jesus but I also noted that it was not Christians feeling the need to avenge Jesus by murdering the cartoonists. Jesus will avenge Himself. Poor Mohammad cannot avenge himself as he is dead and in hell. Now his revengers are also dead and in hell.

What is it because you do not understand English? If you think putting up posters of mockery will deter islam then you are sorely mistaken. But it is not wise to make an advertisement for slaughter in a place full of children. Putting up these posters shows both how the West fears islam and how the West relies on its vain pride. Do not be afraid of islam, the followers of islam have been given a space of time to punish the secularists and after that time islam will be destroyed.

Once again, they choose death because they wish to mock our God and to mock all religion. It is no surprise then that we choose to forgive them in accordance to the Bible and that the followers of islam choose to slay them in accordance to their koran. Even moreso as this is not even the first time it happened. If they cannot figure this out then that is their problem and this will repeat itself again.

There is no muslim country. Do not rely on any of the nations for they will all be destroyed. Behold the fall of nations and princes that is what is happening even now for the Kingdom of God is at hand. Do not rely on the nonexistent freedom of speech or any of the false freedom the West pretends it gurantees. The Bible is clear that those that peddle freedom are slaves to corruption. The Bible is clear that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Therefore what chose Charlie Hebdo? What chose the followers of islam that did smite Charlie Hebdo? Did not both go down to the grave?

Again I counsel, do not fight their war they will destroy eachother. We cannot save either of them for they all hate us and do not want to be saved, but wish to fight eachother in vain for control of this world which will be dissolved by fire. All we can do is keep our Christian brothers from being seduced into fighting this war for one of the fallen sides and to give warnings to the unbelievers that they will not believe even as they are being slaughtered. Take refuge in Christ and do not become part of the world or fight this war.

I agree, but it will be difficult to do.

I think GIS makes a valid point about the expectation by secularists -- read: non-Christians -- that Muslims will respect any decision they make to reject Islam as well. Islamism is worse than Nazism. The Nazis pretended to embrace Christianity while trying to be stealthy about inserting the Nazi doctrine into the German Lutheran church first, and then other churches later. Islam refuses to compromise, declaring "Convert or die!"

On the other hand, I reject the notion that it was a wise move to remove the poster, and it was an even worse move for the professor who put it up to apologize for doing so. It denies the absolutism regarding free speech and free expression that is displayed in this morning's edition of Charlie Hebdo. The cartoonists there refused to be intimidated, even by the brutal cold-blooded slaughter of their compatriots last week. To be sure, it may cost them their lives as well, but there are some things other than Christ worth dying for, His message being as much about freedom as it was about forgiveness and turning from sin.

You said it, not I. I do not approve of their attack, but it is no surprise to me either. How can a man that pokes a bear be surprised when he is mauled?

As for freedom, it does not exist in this world.

As for America, has it not fought for 13+ years? Has islam increased or decreased in the past years? Has the secularism increased or decreased in the past 13+ years? Hast the violence increased or decreased in the past 13+ years? America is not winning the war, that is a fact.
