John McCain withdraws support for Donald Trump

Actually, I don't. I think a lot of what he has said in the past is either idiotic high school posturing or calculated to suit audience expectations.

Part of my misgiving with him.

You have to admit though... even if it's true he was just posturing, he did this to himself and there is no excuse to defend his actions the way we see some Trump supporters do. He can't blame anyone for believing that it is 100% accurate when he is the source. They lose the right to get annoyed/frustrated with Trump when they perpetually try to shift and/or defend the indefensible, or when they use one standard for Hillary (she's so evil for laughing at her lack of faith in polygraph) but another for Trump (it's not so bad... boys will be boys).

I think I have a pretty consistent record on this site of claiming this is really bad politics. It is why was a bearer of the Cruz banner for months on this site.

In that particular case I would argue laughing about letting a child rapist off on a technicality and laughing about taking peeks at naked women are in different ballparks.

But again, politics rears its head. Hillary's misdeeds require more backstory explanation than Trump's. They therefore stick less.

I agree that the left smears Trump at every opportunity... but what you sometimes fail to realize is that Trump does most of his own smearing on himself... perfect example is the dressing room audio.

However, lets not be guilty of what we are accusing the left wing media of doing... using one standard for one person and another for Trump.
