The topic of weather weapons and atmospheric manipulations have been debated in Congress and at the UN.
Even though there are periods of extremes, this happened to be, coincidentally (?), the very time that rolling blackouts here and in Europe were used as exercises in conservation. They didn't pick hot weather while air conditioning was a luxury and peak draw. They chose to do it during the most dangerous time in many years. That makes me suspect that either...
A. The powers that shouldn't be are the instigators or
B. They "don't let a good crisis go to waste."

Winter wheat severely damaged. Could lose 30% of our wheat harvest for the year.

That's something that I was talking to friends about when I heard about the freeze. It's somewhat surprising that it would affect so far south or mains in Ohio that would be dug to spec. Goes to show that conditions were probably worse than in the 80s. They would have changed code to compensate and be insurable.

Praise the Lord for the mercy that He has shown most of us a pray for those in need. My family has been very fortunate as December 23 approached like a lion and went out like a lamb. Our pipes are ok and power was not in the areas of those less fortunate.

Just a couple days ago it was - 13 in Tennessee

It was minus 2 where I live in NE Tennessee. Got about 3 inches of snow. Very windy. Much warmer today.

It appears to have not been kind to the bamboo plants I hope to see grow taller than a foot. Perhaps I should have sprayed them with water at the onset?

Alas a pipe did burst. Not sure how really because a faucet was dripping on that line but apparently it wasn't enough...it just slowly iced at the bottom of the sink and froze up the faucet (have a picture) and froze up the pipe. The rest of the water was fine though. Burst at like 11:30pm on the 24th...I had to RUN to shut off the water from the street lol.

Fortunately it wasn't too bad and there were shutoff valves to keep water to most of the house.

I appreciate the tip about starting cars...I did that anyway because I was working but I didn't think it was necessary.
