Leave it to Robert Byrd to give the greatest speech mankind has ever heard

Also, almost 100% of crimes in the world are committed by Statists.
Wow. That video is kind of sad to watch.

What??? Seriously.
I'm very serious. You're a paternalist just like most liberals. You don't think our Black brothers and sisters can make it on their own so you feel the need to look after them and make sure they're coddled to your liking. Coddle them just enough to still need you, but not enough whereby they become independent and thus ultimately turn against your paternalist ways.

Typical liberal response. Truth to liberals is like Kryptonite to Superman. Carry on.

He was a secretary for the KKK back in the day
He sure was..yet he was elevated to the level of saint because he had a D next to his name. I wonder how many lynchings he was involved with or how many black families he terrorized.

I don't like dems myself, but i disagree with the general pemise that they are inherently more criminal. Most registered voters are oblivious morons in general, and a large percentage of the population doesn't even vote or have any political affiliation like that. That and once your a felon, you lose your voting rights so convicts cant really be either party :p.

I hear you... I attempted to correct my op a few posts back to better reflect my thinking on the the matter....that the criminal mind typically identifies with the concept of modern liberalism. Which by the way is a perversion of true classical liberalism.

I def agree the progressive liberalism is the greatest political cancer of modern society and im actually a temporary right winger out of political necessity.....all these parties are pretty horrid representations of their true roots though. The left just seems to be reeeeeally whacked out the past 9 years or so. Like, the real news coming out these days is even worse than what the onion (a political satire website) was putting out as a joke a few years ago.

Can't really agree that one party is more prone to having more criminals over the other though. A lot of crime has nothing to do with political affiliation.

This varies by state. Some states prohibit convicts from voting and one must go through a legal process to have those rights re-instated whereas others (such as Colorado where I live) only prohibit incarcerated persons from voting.

Does it matter what crime is committed? If they are out on parole can they vote?...or do they have to be completely out of the system?

Depends on the State..........a person with a Felony Conviction loses some rights afforded to other citizens in some States as I understand it. This includes the right to vote. Now, many have changed this in the last several years, and it may be Nationwide now, but I do not think so. You could "search" to find out which States restrict the rights of convicted Felons.

[h=1]Holder Urges States to Lift Bans on Felons’ Voting[/h]By MATT APUZZOFEB. 11, 2014

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. called Tuesday for the repeal of laws that prohibit millions of felons from voting, underscoring the Obama administration’s determination to elevate issues of criminal justice and race in the president’s second term and create a lasting civil

Nearly every state prohibits inmates from voting while in prison. Laws vary widely, however, on whether felons can vote once they have been released from prison. Some states allow voting while on parole, others while on probation.

Some states require waiting periods or have complicated processes for felons to reregister to vote. In Mississippi, passing a $100 bad check carries a lifetime ban from voting.
In four states — Florida, Iowa, Kentucky and Virginia — all felons are barred from the polls for life unless they receive clemency from the governor.

1) And you have viable "studies" to support your assertion? The reason the recidivism rate is high here in the US is because the criminals KNOW that their punishment will NOT fit the crime. The KEY is to turn CRIMINALS into DUST. That will assure the recidivism rate will be ZERO.

2) Or, the intent of the this thread is for Sirk to express his opinion(s), as is his Constitutional right here in the US. ALL POSTS/COMMENTS can be seen as "inflammatory" on the Internet. It simply depends if one agrees/disagrees with the comment posted.
The effects of punishment on recidivism

Incarceration Within American and Nordic Prisons: Comparison of National and International Policies | ENGAGE

It's amazing how certain people can hear or read statements and compute in their heads something totally different from what those statements were. Where did I say he didn't have a right to free speech? Although I should point out that private web forums do not have free speech, it only means the government can't abridge anything.

The word inflammatory means a statement specifically designed to make people angry or upset. Try working on your reading comprehension.
