Oh, so now you're bringing scripture into it? That's weird. Why on earth would a Christian bring His word into the conversation? What are you trying to do, makes sense and come to the truth?

Psshhh... Bringing scripture that directly addresses and answers the matter at hand. What a "concept". (sarcasm over)
Just playing around of course, but great point, there's actually a LOT behind Christmas and how it came about, and if someone celebrates our Kings birth in whatever way, I'm not going to stand in judgment over them for this. Again I know the arguments against some of these traditions and there origin, but even if/when this is the case taking these things and putting them under Christ I just do not see as a "battle" that needs to be waged. If you think it's wicked then do not do it and I support you 100% in that, if you do celebrate it as hard as you can every year, and do so for the love and glory of Jesus our King, then let them be fully convinced in their own heart as well and glory to God for both. I love how His word answers ALL these questions.
You can quote scriptures all day but nowhere in the Bible does it say Christianity is to be enforced by law.
Which means people should be free to celebrate whatever they want, whatever they want because Christianity isn't Sharia

I don't disagree, and to be honest I didn't realize I was in this thread when I wrote that reply. I was only referring to Christians that hold these judgements over each other, the whole "pagan roots" debate. But I do not believe that applies to the Indonesians forbidding Christmas situation at all. That's 100% wrong and the fruit of a wicked ideology called Islam. I agree completely that is wrong and that was not what my comment was talking about. I was ONLY replying to that one comment from ZNP and not to the OP at all. Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah, apparently a lot of people on this forum think Christianity is supposed to be enforced by law. Which is not biblical

That is fine, I am not a resident or citizen of Indonesia. I have no issue with the people of that country making laws about what holidays they celebrate, and what are national holidays. But the idea that Christians should rise up to defend Indonesians who wish to celebrate a pagan holiday is utterly beyond me.

Yes, I know there are those that do celebrate this purely as a time to worship the birth of the savior. They are the exception to the rule and not in any way typical of the average celebration of this holiday.

But even for them, there is nothing in the New Testament saying we are to celebrate Jesus birth on December 25th, in fact we are told the opposite that we are not in any way required to celebrate any holy day. Even with the Lord's table Paul refers to it as "whatever day". So the New Testament gives Christians complete freedom in worshipping the Lord and keeping the Lord's table and that is the celebration that we do in remembrance of Him.

BTW if Indonesia does make a law against Christians celebrating the Lord's table that would be something I would be interested in defending as a Christian.

Sorry it is hard for me to decipher your meaning. Are you saying that Christians in America need to rise up in defense of Indonesians who wish to celebrate Christmas, and Santa Claus, and flying reindeer?

Not to mention completely impossible. (as in you can't "law" people into Christ)

Yes I do. But it is so confusing because I misunderstood your comment in that response. It was concerning something completely unrelated and it was all because I misunderstood what you were saying. I do agree with you that we as Christians should stand against these injustices against our brothers and sisters. 100% for standing against it. Sorry for the confusion, and it was all 100% from me and my replying to something based on a faulty understanding.

Christianity being relationship with the indwelling Christ, it cannot be legislated. "Religion" that misses the mark, can be legislated.

Phew, glad you cleared that up, there were a whole lot of Hindus, Buddhists, and Muslims that thought the carpet had just been pulled out from under them. But they can rest assured, Sharia law can legislate the worship of Satan. I think Nebuchadnezzar was the first to prove you can pass laws requiring you worship according to his religion.

Well since you're simping for Muslims, Go over there and live with them. I might decide to celebrate Christmas Kwanzaa and Hanukkah at the same time because I can

Of course there are "christian" ism's that have been legislated, the Anglicism vs Catholicism in England, the Catholicism vs everything else, etc.
These followed Constantine's creation of a blend of paganism with Christianity that runs counter of genuine Spirit filled Christianity of the church in Acts.

I said what I said
a lot of pride and arrogance there, again something you will leave behind if and when you grow up and become mature. Being 14 you are better off to read and grow and not post. There are wise brothers and sisters here you can gain from.
best wishes

That rejects the truth of the Gospel and is a sign of unbelief.
