Nothing really new there, as we've known for years that the Palestinians are squatters largely with a Jordanian, Saudi, and Lebanese heritage whose ancestors were criminals who fled their homes to avoid arrest and life imprisonment or death. Liberals in the U.S. and Europe have always denied that, but denying it denies history.

You want to know where the "Palestinian people" came from? You should read this:

Soviet Union: Creators of the PLO and the Palestinian People

I think you need to get different sources as the Palestinians (land of Canaan) is mentioned in the bible dating back to before the Soviet Union was ever formed.

Here is a history study and bible reference on its history:

You should look again. The word "Palestinians" is not mentioned in the Bible, nor is there a geographical reference to "Palestine." That word originated with the Romans, but it never showed up in the Bible.

Here is the sad thing about this whole Palestinian Verses Israelite issue....If a DNA test were to be done with a modern Palestinian soldier and any Jewish person living in Jerusalem, it will show the same DNA, the same genetic makeup, that same ancestors in common. To make it sound even more sad, some are as close as two generations apart. This makes NO sense to me except that they have forgotten their true ROOTS and that Jehovah was and should still be their GOD thus uniting them. Their common ancestors came out of Egypt together, hand in hand. Sheesh!!!!!!!! This was also the same issue between Samaritans and Jews in Jesus' day.... inbreeding was seen as a sign of impurity. GOD goes way beyond that and takes what mankind calls "Half breeds" and turns them into something beautiful. If you do not believe that, look at the geneology of JESUS CHRIST Himself.

Pwrn, the same thing can be said about any two people in the world, regardless of skin color, heritage, or culture. No two humans are that far apart genetically.

That's why it is so stupid for the world to be so divided, and the real division is "good" and "evil" from a relativity perspective -- i.e., no man is purely good nor purely evil, but it is obvious there are greater and lesser degrees of both among humankind.

If Jews and Arabs are so interconnected, why is it that the Arabs have forgotten the Temple worship of the OT?

Genetically there may be little difference but prophetically there is a huge difference.

Genesis 16:11-12 KJV
[11] And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the Lord hath heard thy affliction. [12] And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

But since mankind puts more credence in 'science' than Scripture, oh well.

The source I've been reading lately doesn't line up with the linked source in terms of historical events. It suggests that what we now call the Palestinians were simply the people living in that area when it was taken over by Egypt in 1948. Egypt didn't want the people though, so they have remained, essentially, refugees in their own territory. Add a few generations of rhetoric, and you have a generation of anti-Israeli hotheads and a bunch of ill-informed zealots backing up their claims. If my source is correct, the real issue was never Israel. Israel is simply a convenient focus of anger.

The squatters perpetually attempt to rewrite history...to no avail I might add!

I'm not trying to argue with you, but I'm not sure what you're getting at. Both the Palestinians and Israelis could be called squatters (I'm not supporting that view). Maybe some are, but many of the people living in Gaza are descendants of the peoples living there before 1948.

I suspect the bigger problem is that the true history is either not taught, is taught with a slant or only part of the story, or is twisted to serve one or more agendas, so that most people don't really know what the truth is, and yet have strong and even violent opinions based largely on ignorance. Unfortunately, nobody wants to admit their ignorance; it's easier to shout rhetoric.

According to U.N estimates during 1947 and the Partition Plan the land assigned to the Jewish state contained approximately 538,000 Jews and 397,000 Arabs (a number that included Christians, Bedouins, Druze, and others).
