I have a solution. Since people are not worried about illegal immigrants, require objectors to the fence to feed, clothe, educate and house every one int the country. In addition require them to pay the illegal minimum wage for the ten years that it takes for the illegal to assimilate into our society.

A properly constructed and managed wall will not completely stop drugs from entering the Country, but it WILL make the smugglers/Cartels take a different direction...........and that is a start. It will also directly effect the smuggling of weapons and humans, and cut way down on the smuggling of stolen goods, especially automobiles.
No, it can't be an actual wall for the entire 1,900 miles, but a combination of structures/technologies, and it will make a huge difference in all our lives if properly done and manned/enforced.
