if you can provide proof that Mexicans are raping and attacking people at a disproportionate rate to Americans then I might be convinced

That's got to be the stupidest argument people try. Leukemia doesn't kill any more people than other kinds of cancer.... so why try to stop or control it if we clearly have the means to do so available to us?

Problem is that we hold everyone crossing the border for criminal purposes Mexicans. Most of them are from other countries.

It doesn't matter that the border happens to border Mexico. If they are Irish, Egyptian, Semolina, or whatever.... they are crossing illegally if they are not coming through the gates..

Well, that's just what they are doing...or more correctly, under the gates.

I think that most Mexicans are good people.
I wonder if you even know ten Mexicans, but you want to say that 120 million of them are good people, despite the fact that Jesus said there was nobody good but God. I wonder why this needs to be repeated to you. Do you not believe what Jesus said? Whether Americans pass the muster is immaterial, since they are legally citizens and have the rights of citizens.

Shall we let the fear, cancel our freedoms?
I wonder what you have against common sense.

Freedom to travel, freedom to speak?
Did you listen to the link I gave you? Your right to speak is being chipped away at by the UN.

This is the object of the terrorists, to bring fear, and to end freedom.
People like you are the reason they are gaining a foothold in the world.

I would love to live in Canada, or Mexico, travel freely from nation to nation.
But the powers of fear and hate have taken hold in our world, to the point that we now fear our neighbors, this is wrong.
Jesus said worldly power was given from above. Remember Pontius Pilate? Pus, I doubt you would really have any trouble coming to Canada. Just make sure you have the required travel documents and that your papers are in order... or are you against that, too? You could probably go to Mexico without much hassle also. Why don't you go live in the biggest slum in the world for a while? Your services would likely be greatly appreciated, and you could get a taste for what it would be like to allow over a hundred million people into your country when there is neither employment nor housing for them.

The evil of fear and mistrust is being used by those in power to take these freedoms away.
I say tear down that wall, better yet, don't build it.
You need to educate yourself. Please listen to the link I gave you. There is more than one part to it, so if you could listen to both, you would be doing yourself and the whole world a favor. You are big on doing the whole world a favor, right? Here it is again: Islam’s Attack On Free Speech Through The UN – Part 1 – Fortress of Faith

Here is some of it in text:
What we will be looking at today is something that is going on in the United Nations. It is a resolution that has been passes and, if it is implemented in the United States, it will rob us of our First Amendment rights. There are great efforts by some to get this to happen.

Many of you will say that this can never happen here in the United States. Let me remind you that I lived most of my life in the United Kingdom. There were things that people said would happen and I was one of the skeptics. I said that these things would never happen in the UK. For example they said Shariah law courts would be opening in Britain and I, like many others, said that can’t happen. I was wrong, it did happen.

There are things that are going on that pose a great threat to our rights and our way of life and our attention is being misdirected to keep us from seeing them. I want to draw our attention to one of those things today.

You must listen to this broadcast and be informed about what Islamic nations are pushing through the United Nations. The OIC, which is the Organization of the Islamic Conference, votes as a 57 member block in the UN and they have a growing influence in UN resolutions. They desire to make it a crime if anyone blasphemes or speaks critically about Islam. Two dangerous resolutions have been passed to bring about their goal:

Today we will look at UN Resolution 16/18. It was originally called the Defamation of Religion Resolution. It said that if anyone defamed another’s religion it would be considered a criminal offense. Think about this! If you view someone else’s religion as wrong or hurtful, and speak out against it, you would be guilty of a crime.

UN Resolution 16/18

Resolution 16/18 has been passed in the UN on multiple occasions over the last ten years. Each time it passes adds to precedence, and after sufficient time, international pressure is brought to bare, forcing nations to submit to “international law.”

We had Deborah Weiss on today’s broadcast. Deborah is an attorney, she has written a number of articles for Front Page Magazine, she writes for the Washington Times. She lives in Washington DC. She is the foremost expert on Resolution 16/18. I had the opportunity to interview here when I was at some meetings in Washington DC. You can read some of her articles on this subject by clicking here. Most of what follows come from this interview with her.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is composed of 56 member states plus the Palestinian Authority. They tend to vote together as a block in the UN. They are the largest voting block in the UN and most people have never heard of it. This means that the OIC has a major impact on the decisions made by the UN.

One of their goals is to have international blasphemy laws. Knowing that can’t do this over night they keep introducing UN resolutions and working with the European Union Parliament to accomplish their goal gradually and incrementally. They word their resolutions in a watered down form to get them passed.

The first resolution they got passed was called “Defamation of Religions” and the idea behind it was that a religion, in this case Islam, would be protected from criticism. This is in opposition to American defamation laws which are designed to protect people. This is the usual western idea of defamation. Even though it uses the word “religion” all of the OIC countries interpret it to apply to Islam only.

This “Defamation of Religion” resolution has grown into Resolution 16/19, which is much more comprehensive. Although the first resolution sounded very nice, countries like America started to realize that it would have a major effect on the freedom of speech. It would make it illegal to talk about the persecuted Christians in Muslim countries. You wouldn’t be able to talk about Islamic terrorism. Both of these would be considered the defamation of Islam.

In other words, if Islam is burning churches, killing Christians, and so forth, and someone simply says that it is going on, it would be defamation of Islam. Just pointing out the truth would be a crime. It would be legal to say these things were happening, but if you were to connect it in any way to Islam you would be breaking the law.
Tomorrow we will continue with this subject.

I want a "big beautiful fence" that makes the Great Wall of China look like a pile of rocks. Let's make it the next and greatest wonder of the world. I can picture theme parks every hundred miles, restaurant and hotel areas every twenty-six miles, vending areas every mile. We can have annual wall hikes, multiple marathons, etc. I can picture the greatest tourist attraction ever built. Just think of the jobs we can create. If we do it right, people would want to visit and go back home. While they were on the wall they would forget all their troubles, and lose any desire to go all the way across it.

Can we undo, what has been done?

Can we as Christians stop this spiral into darkness?

Do we have the love to do it?

Jesus Help us.

Can we change the world?

My friend, I'm sorry that you have to live in this world, polluted from the greed of men and money.

We could have made it better for you, many tried and did great things, but the powers of hate and fear and lies are powerful, and loud.

There is confusion, murder and injustice, and fear.

There were many who said love was the way, but others, brutes and bullies, hated the ways of love.

Money is there god. Power. Fame. Seeking to be praised by men and women. selfish. ego.

--

Love,

That is the greatest power of all, the gospel of the love of Jesus.

It is more powerful than the greatest weapon of men, it has the power to save the soul.

The saving love of Jesus can change the hearts and minds of men.

We cannot change the world, but the power of the gospel can.

My friend, for a little while, there was a peace.

It still can be found, there is still hope.

But the light must shine, love must show the way.

There is no other path for us.
--

If we had power, what would be the most loving things, that we could do?

For Mexico? Canada? ..........Syria.......China........South Sudan?.....the world?

Show them the way, the truth, and the life.
Love is not sunshine and daisies all the time. If you really love someone, you will set boundaries.
And quite frankly, I love my kids and care more for their safety and well being than any illegal alien.
So when they come to my country and my kids' country and put us into more debt and take away those jobs and make it less safe to live here, you are darn tootin' I WANT A WALL.
I have ZERO problems with legal immigration. Do it the right way and be a productive citizen.

You may feel the need to witness to these people and that is wonderful but you are not going to do it at the expense of the country's and my kids' future.

The New York Times reports that about 4.5 million illegal aliens in the U.S. drive on a regular basis, many without licenses or insurance, or even the ability to read road signs written in English.

(Meanwhile, the California legislature has just voted to give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.)

Yahoo.com writer J.C. Grant notes, “There is a statistically significant correlation between state per capita illegal immigration rates and car thefts. This correlation is particularly strong: the odds are less than two in one million that the correlation is a chance occurrence.”

At first glance, the statistics are jolting. According to the United Nations, 97 percent of the illegal immigrants who enter the U.S. clandestinely do so across the almost 2,000-mile border between the U.S. and Mexico, but only 20 percent of those who cross the border illegally are caught.

Fox News, obtained reports by the House Judiciary Committee and nonpartisan Congressional Research Service. They are the result of the committee’s subpoena request for Department of Homeland Security records from October 2008 to July 2011. The information was analyzed by the CRS and show 276,412 reported charges against illegal and criminal immigrants over that three-year period as identified by Secure Communities, a federal program that essentially attempts to make best use of resources by identifying and prioritizing which illegal immigrants pose the biggest threat to public safety and should be arrested or deported. Fox News reports, “Of the 160,000 people in the database, more than 26,000 were re-arrested — accounting for nearly 58,000 crimes and violations. They allegedly committed nearly 8,500 drunken-driving offenses and more than 6,000 drug-related violations. The records also show major criminal offenses, which included murder, battery, rape, kidnapping and nearly 3,000 thefts. Roughly two percent of the crimes included child molestation, lynching, and torture, according to the 13-page Congressional Research Service report.”[13]

(I was going to post this with the link but my phone is not doing what I want it to.)

Anyone who has entered the country illegally has already shown a complete lack of regard/respect for the laws of the land, so it is no surprise they have no problem continuing to break the laws...

You're right, dude, believing that a wall will stop drugs from coming into the country is naive. But it'll look like gov't is doing a massive (lol even literally in this case) job fighting drugs, illegal aliens etc. Criminals will always find a way to conquer any obstacle and as long as there is no shortage of poor people to carry the drugs on their bodys, inside their vehicles etc the show will go on. The tunnels will have to be made deeper and longer though.

Isn't this a lot like saying that putting locks on your house and car doors won't stop some thieves..... so why bother? Just let anyone who wants to break in your house or steal your car.

Sure, if your front door is 2,000 miles wide. Haha.
