Well who in their right mind wants to have a big black guy verbally insult and attempt to intimidate you, then punch you square in your face, then go for your gun and unleash everything he has on you and after you shoot him full of holes defending your life be derided by the liberals and liberal media, have grand jury trials held to try and convict you of a first degree felony, and have the DOJ investigate you for civil rights violations as rioters burn the city you were policing properly to the ground over it... for about $52k a year?

In all seriousness my ex said that the calls they hated going on the most was domestic violence because the fight might start between the man and woman but can end up against the police officer.....one of our friends was killed on a domestic dispute call....It was heart breaking....They do put their lives on the line everyday and that was my biggest fear of getting that phone call officer/husband down.....

Everything you wrote was correct. I worked 35 years in a uniform, on the night shift. I wasn't fit to work with real people during the daytime. Yes, Officers make lousy spouses, I've had two. I came to the conclusion that I was either not fit for human companionship or I was really an S.O.B.. In either event I have remained single for over 25 years now.
