is there anything that supports this? I've never heard of a connection between the belief that homosexuality is okay being tied with child molestation being okay. Ive actually never met someone who supports child molestation but ive met many that support homosexuality.

Psychologists are now saying pedophilia is a sexual orientation and not a mental disorder. Pedophiles are now wanting the same rights as gays.

When I googled this is was a bit suspicious when I only saw Christian websites reporting this claim, according to this press release, those claims are wrong.

The report (the 1972 homosexual platform, although it is surprising to see such things supported even in 1972) to me, isn't a representation of the homosexual community as a whole anymore then a 2014 church holding up a "God hates fags" sign is a representation of the Christian community as a whole. If you were to poll people today (all of whom accept Homosexuality as being right) I personally think it would be overwhelming in the belief that child molestation is wrong. As for the article linking those who have committed child molestation acts and homosexuality, I am sure I could find articles that would debate that claim.

All in all I think we should be careful with things like this, the last thing I would want to see would to see a gay person stumble onto a thread like this and think they are a danger to children when they may not be. I am open to your argument but would like to see a bit more proof then what is currently posted in this tread.

I would say that your source has bias in favor of homosexuality and has a personal interest in promoting the homosexual community as being more benign than it is. The author of your cited article is Dr. Gregory Herek (psychologist) and he is an openly homosexual man.

In terms of Putin and his statement and the recently passed laws in Russia. Now first you have to understand a lot of the pro-gay stuff that is being used to attack Putin is mostly propaganda by America. Upon examination of Putin's law and statement he did not make homosexuality illegal. What Putin and his new law is meaning is that they do not want all the gay stuff on TV or in the public Russian Media for the reason that children watch it.

This quote by Putin (article below) pretty much sums it up:

The theory behind this is that it is the saturation in the media of promoting homosexuality to children which causes harm and social degradation. You could parallel this with a straight person example of not displaying man-woman porno on TV because it is indecent and harmful for children to see such things and over-sexualization of our society has led to many woes. That is the basic gist of Putin's statement and recent laws, from what research I did on it. I don't think he is hating on gays, I think he just doesn't want smut on his media channels. From my perspective it seems like a matter dealing moreso with censorship instead of sexuality.

Just my perspective on it. I do admit I only have seen a few news articles and TV reports regarding this issue, so thus my research on this topic is not as thorough as I would like it to be. I personally am a little more concerned with possible jihadist attacks on Sochi than any gay stuff.

I never stated it was American psychologists. I also never said it was a psychological association. There are psychologists out there(2 in canada I know) that have stated that pedophilia is a sexual orientation.

Yet it won't be long before it is overall accepted. This is the same route homosexuality took. There is really nothing to prevent pedophilia to becoming legal. Beastiality is already legal in many areas.

I do not know if gay men are more likely to abuse children than straight men, but I have met quite a few gay men, who were sexually abused by men ad children. It seems to turn them to the dark side. (ie, NOT born that way!)

I believe Pedophilia is legal, child molestation and child porn on the other hand are not. Not all Pedophiles are child molesters. As for it ever becoming legal to molest a child, I highly doubt this because its mostly accepted as being one of the worst things someone can do.

All this may be true, but in the original article posted by [FONT=Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]cavil51 [/FONT]a clinical psychologist and the FBI would debate those claims made by Mr.Baldwin. My main point is that in my opinion until there is 100% proof of homosexuality and child molestation being linked, its not something I can personally accept to be truth.
