Scientists used stem cells from a mouse to create a mouse embryo, without sperm or egg. It had a brain and beating heart but only lived 8 days.

"Scientists believe that through this experiment it would be easier for doctors to identify why some pregnancies fail at an earlier stage."

This really bugs me. Not only are they "playing God" but it's so weird how the majority find abortion acceptable and then there is this, where they're trying to figure out why some pregnancies fail. Seems inconsistent. I also can't help but wonder (conspiracy theorist in me, I guess) if this is working toward a future where the only babies allowed to be born are those that are created via lab. Gives a whole new meaning to test tube babies, eh?

In all honestly I wouldn't worry about these people in particular "creating" a baby. They're not even having luck with mice. Although yes I think it's unethical.

" test tube baby" is a pretty insulting term. My husband actually used it before we needed ivf for our kid. You never know what life will throw at you.

My sister did IVF and my other sis was a surrogate. Didn't mean any offense with that term in relation to IVF.

‘On principle these are nice ideas …. Which eventually will be abused and used for evil.

Same thing about gene modifications. It can cure diseases and help people but it can also be used by the military to create super soldiers and it can also be used by the wealthy to create another species of humans down the line basically.

Personally I’m not sure if gene editing is playing God. I can kinda see that perspective, but on the other hand God made people smart enough to figure out how to edit genes. It isn’t as if God underestimated people, knowing well in advance what His creation is capable of.

I think it’s more of a matter of that not all that can be done should be done. It’s a matter of what’s right and what’s wrong.

How far does this go? What’s the end goal? Will they eventually mass-produce children in factories, raise them on feeding tubes, and indoctrinate them into an obedient army of superhuman soldiers and obedient citizens in indoctrination camps the size of cities? Or is this just a little experiment?

I think such modifications with God's property is evil, and don't think in our sinful state we should be messing around with this.

I definitely agree that they're working toward a future where babies aren't born via a womb, but only via artificial means (e.g. test tube babies). They've spent decades demonising mothers, and making out that giving birth is such an inconvenient and problemic process. They're trying to claim that men can give birth now, and with their technology, I wouldn't be too surprised if they achieve it shortly via various abominations. Then there is the sterilising covid-19 vaccine (so many women who may want to now can't give birth). There's also plenty of research and experiments creating artificial uteruses, which society may normalise in future in order to have children. Very sad for the children to be brought into a world without parents to love them properly.

My goodness. I cannot believe that these things need to be revealed and discussed. As old as I am, I've seen a transformation in the psychology of America. I've never seen our country is such disarray. Makes me wonder why anyone would want to cross our border and live here.

If you haven't read Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, I would highly recommend it. It is eerily prophetic in its relevance to today's events, despite being almost 90 years old.
