The New York Post has reported that Routh, who has a “lengthy criminal record,” posted about politics “frequently” and “exclusively donated to Democratic candidates and causes dating back to 2019.” Routh claimed online that Trump wanted to “make Americans slaves again,” and urged then-Democratic nominee Joe Biden to campaign on keeping “America democratic and free.”...

Joe Biden and all the "Democrats" have been repeating over and over again that Trump is a threat to democracy, an existential threat to America, and a fascist and Nazi. So why wouldn't a radical Leftist nutcase wait for Trump with an AR15 rifle? By God's grace he did not harm Trump.
But Trump has not done everything possible to protect himself and Vance. That is inexcusable. Some reports suggest that someone in Trump's inner circle leaked the golf plan to the assassin. If true it shows that Trump has not seriously vetted the people around him (or had a savvy individual do his vetting).

Really? "Thank the Secret Service" which plotted the first assassination attempt, and were probably complicit in the second? Is Trump totally clueless about what is going on around him, when millions are counting on him to stay safe? "And all law enforcement"? How did they have this crazy man hanging around the golf course for 12 hours (as one report says)?
This was exactly the opportunity to say "I am done will the Secret Service and law enforcement. I will hire my own security team. which I should have done ages ago. I owe it to the American people".

There is a very good possibility that for Routh to pick that exact golf course and the exact spot with the security gap, he was tipped off by an insider (or the Secret Service).

This is my take on it. The rank and file SS and law enforcement like Trump. And will protect him. The higher ups.....not so much. So the rank and file stop the higher ups from blatantly killing Trump. If Trump gets rid of the rank and file SS and law enforcement.....There is nothing to stop the powers that be to finish him off. They will no longer have whistle blowers or subordinates on the ground that know of the underhanded schemes. It's a catch 22 for Trump.
