All investors need to keep this in mind:
US Treasuries offer: infinite issuance, finite duration, finite face value
Gold and Silver offer: finite issuance, infinite duration, infinite face value

Also keep in mind that if you keep your treasure in the heavens no thief will be able to break in and steal it and your heart will also be there in the heavens.

Eph 5:11
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

You can't eat gold. I'd be more likely to store rice and beans than to purchase precious metals.

I'm an investor, have been since 1968. I've got a little silver, but not much. I know I can lose everything I've spent a life accumulating in a day. I can live with that. I've got Jesus and that is enough where the rubber hits the road.

You’re right. You can’t eat gold or silver.

But both have been used as money or a portable instrument of barter for 6000 yrs.

So you can likely use them to buy rice and beans when the SHTF.

I used to agree with that. But now I think food would be a better bartering agent than precious metals.

Eze 7:19 “They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.”

We are not orphans, the key point to his post for me was "I've got Jesus".

And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

Yep, works for me.

Imagine if instead there was a boy there who had 5 pieces of silver so the story is that Jesus multiplied the silver! LOL, apparently the prosperity gospel will discover the fatal flaw in their perverted gospel.

Meanwhile Silver is up 4% today. We are watching the collapse of the US dollar.

On the other hand the Nasdaq bank index is down 2.5% today

Yet nobody here has the gumption to ask the obvious questions:
What happened such that we have come to this point of collapse?
Why are my kids doomed to a dystopian future in a banana republic?

IMO none of this needed to happen. Tragic. Blame your political leadership.
Far from being impossible to predict, all of this was obvious to anyone not $$$compromised$$$ by money and power.

No argument there. But why would anyone in their right mind allow themselves and their families to be pillaged into penury by the bad guys?

The wise man would prevail OVER such dire circumstances.

I don't think that passage is referring to believers BEFORE the great tribulation.

There is a long story of what happened. The collapse might have been stopped at the time NAFTA passed. But by the time Biden became president it was baked in the cake.

911 was an inside job.

It was related to the 2008 mortgage crisis.

Both of these are tied to the apostasy.

In order to get the horrific picture we see in the book of Revelation the US must collapse, not simply as an economic power or as the policeman of the world, but even more as a light on a hill shining to the world.

Do you think your gold and silver will be able to deliver you during the tribulation?

I am a firm proponent that the Bible teaches a pre tribulation rapture. But if I am here during the Antichrist and the mark of the beast I will be looking to preach the gospel and be beheaded. Not interested in curling up in some hole in the ground hoping they never find me.
