Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and China’s Covid Zero lockdowns are disrupting supply chains, hammering growth and pushing inflation to forty-year highs. They’re the chief reasons why Bloomberg Economics has lopped $1.6 trillion off its forecast for global GDP in 2022.

I have always had a prepper mentality and usually have a stock pile of various items on hand. Food and water are one of those things that people take for granted and if there ever was a serious disruption in the supply chain many people might not survive.

Dystopian TV shows and movies give such an inaccurate representation of what things would really be like. You see people running around all day on very little food and water and seemingly able to survive off of a little vegetable garden.

Water is the biggest thing but we also need sufficent amounts of fat, cholesterol, protein, fruits, vegetables, and certain vitamins & minerals. A lot of which are hard to come by in the wild, and in the old days a lot of health problems were from the lack of certain vitamins & minerals so a lot of food we buy now have what we need most added to them.

Electricity is another thing and without it we can't refrigerate anything and perishable foods spoil. If you have a well for water your pump won't run so no water either. You may have a back up generator which is great as long as it's large enough to run your loads and you have fuel for it.

If anyone wants to be truly prepared it takes a lot of research, dedication and $$$. I'm kinda torn because I was prepping to protect my family but when my ex and her lack of wisdom decided to tear our family apart I lost almost everything and prepping has become less important to me.

I also want to put my faith in God to take care of me during hard times, but I'm not sure if he would also want me to prep. I do believe that there will be a time when us Christians that refuse to take the mark will be allowed to starve and or be beheaded. At this point in my life there is very little on this earth that I want to stick around for so a quick death would be preferable but, starving to death is not quick and I would like to avoid it.
I would like to comment, first We won’t be here for those days, in the Bible God removed Noah, Lot, etc God loves us and he is going to take us home. This time that is getting tough is so the few that haven’t made the decision will be given that last chance to choose God. We are here to encourage them and be an example for Gods love. Christians should not be worried about worldly things that is the Devils domain we are of Gods domain he rules not satan. Look to the Lord! He is our hope.

Jesus was clear that we need to be worthy to escape the things to come.
Are we worthy? Paul wrote of working out our salvation with fear and trembling, does anyone see fear and trembling among the flock? I don't, I see a lot of mental assent to his words and not much healing, cleansing, raising, preaching as was His command if we are His.
I too have a hope of a pretribulation rapture of His own and am seeing many, many, who I have been come to know to be His own are all acknowledging a nearness to that event, indeed, "at the door".

They said the same thing during WWI and especially during WWII.

Only Jesus is worthy. I'm not. I will never be worthy either. I am corrupt and infectious on a genetic level with sin.

I don't think that I deserve heaven. I don't get to go because of my righteousness....only because of Jesus's.

Can you or anyone else post scripture that say's specifically that we will be raptured before the tribulation? I would love to be wrong but I have read the Bible several times and haven't seen any scripture that is specific enough to convince me of a pretribe rapture.

Of all that have suffered in the past for their faith why should it be any different for us now?

My prepping is not going to prevent me from suffering at some point during the tribulation as I know that if I live long enough it will catch up to me. I do pray that I die of natural causes before that....

I have posted these in my blog "Summary of Bible references on the rapture". I will update the blog with a focus on the Biblical basis for a pre tribulation rapture. Should add those posts today (it will have to be more than one post)

I'm not interested in reading your blog. Just post some scriptures here.

This has nothing to do with the rapture. Create a thread and I'll cut and paste the last three posts there.

I believe the rapture does play a part in prepping. Many believe there's no need to be prepared because they think God will take them before the SHTF. I'm not 100% convinced of that therefore I prep for that and other reasons.

People can believe what they want to and that's their choice, but if those who choose not to prep are wrong then there's going to be a lot more suffering for them. But if I'm wrong then what did it hurt me to prep?

The rapture is not a doctrine that contradicts being prudent.

I don’t mean to undermine your optimistic message because it sounds good, but when I see things like this I feel a duty to temper it with realty. The reality is that Noah, Lot, etc were not removed from the Earth during the wrath of God so the comparison you’re trying to draw between them and the church isn’t accurate.

Additionally, hardships and tribulation are not God’s wrath. Christians can and do go through hardships, persecution and have been dying for their faith for centuries. It isn’t right to think we are somehow better than them and cannot be subject to sufferings too.

Or, at least, it shouldn't be...
There are two sides to this. No amount of prepping can allow you to "survive" the tribulation. On the other hand the Lord told us to "occupy till He comes" and that no one knows the day or the hour.

Imagine if Christians did know the day or the hour? would they behave irresponsibly?

Yet at the same time the Lord told us to watch and if we didn't watch He would come at an hour we don't expect.

So which is it? To me this is like a violin string, it is being pulled from two equal and opposite forces so that it is taut and makes a good sound.

We should be watching at what is happening around us. We see a great depression looming on the horizon. Some can say that this is not evidence that the day of the Lord is here because we had a great depression in the 1930s. To that I would say that Israel returned to the Jews in 1948 in one day. That is a major fulfillment of prophecy. Psalm 48, ie 19th book, 48 chapter, prophesied of this and said to "tell it to the terminal generation". Likewise Jesus told us that when the fig tree buds again this generation shall not pass away until all the things He had just listed take place. A generation is 80 years and in May of 2029 Israel will become 81. Hence prior to that all these things must take place.

Judging by how long a "great depression" would be tells us that this will be the one and only one that precedes the Lord's coming in great glory on the clouds.

Now a great depression is very significant because you need something that will encourage all the people in the world to take the mark of the beast. It is quite obvious from Revelation that one of the goals of this "mark" is to eliminate people being able to barter, hence it is a desperate move of a tyrannical government to maintain control in the midst of a great depression.

So then we should watch, we should pay attention to the meeting this month in which the US wants to hand over sovereignty to the WHO, we should pay attention to this coming great depression, and we should be well aware of the verses in the Bible that tell us where we are at.

Interestingly the book of Joel tells us a worldwide pandemic will be the signal that the Day of the Lord is at hand. Once again, we had a worldwide pandemic with the Spanish flu. However, when you read the description in Joel you realize they did not have that reaction to the pandemic. Perhaps in one or two cities, but it was not a global response like we had with Covid 19.

Of course the idea of putting a chip in every person that could be read by a scanner allowing people to buy and sell was certainly not an option back during the Spanish Flu but is something that is being discussed today.

So we can certainly see the day approaching. We can see the day of one world government approaching the day of the mark of the beast approaching, and even Ezekiel 38 seems much more likely now that just a couple of months ago.

But we need to be balanced. Provide for your family while at the same time be absolute for the Lord. There is no salvation in any other name than in the name of Jesus.
