1. No. It will do absolutely nothing.
2. No. Justice can not be served until we understand what justice is. This nation, especially the young part of it, needs to understand that there is no such thing as rights alone. It's rights and responsibilities. Justice will happen when we get that straight.

exactly

do you CC posters want to talk about justice? then start by explaining what it is because from what I read on here not many even know what it is or what it means or how to even administer it.

It is not related just whats happening right now in the US. This is a worldwide issue.

every country has problems with crime...and every country has different way with dealing with it. some have justice systems that work and some have no recourse to justice cos they havent a clue as to what it is!!!!

the police are not above the law, even the govt is not above the law. Ideally, the police and govt of a particular nation is there to protect and serve the interests of its citizens. If the police or govt have the attitude of some parts of the population are not even worthy to be protected because their life is not valued then you will always have this situation.

on police brutality

the culture of the police needs to change.
how many incidents like this have happened, and the police have gotten away with it. Who is keeping track.

is there a watchdog for the Police? are they understaffed, what is training like, is racism tolerated in the police force? How are people arrested, and what are the protocols for arrest?

it would seem that this has been going unchecked for decades.
I had a friend who died because of negligence on part of the police. She might still be alive if they had not dismissed her cries for help when she RANG them. Its because its a culture of 'women are stupid' sort of thing.

Enough is enough!
A white cop kills a black man, so people condemn all cops as racist evil men.
Those who do so are no better than some one who sees a black man commit a crime and condemns all black men as criminals.

A tragic thing happened so some people decide to burn a city down.
OH, what the hell, lets just burn the whole country down!

These people have caused the destruction of many innocent peoples lives, have caused many people bodily injury, and even death.
I hear people, even on this forum, say they do not condone their actions but fail to condemn their actions.
These people out in the streets causing all this destruction are no better than the white cop that took the life of the black man.
They are thugs, plane and simple and should be treated according.

Regardless of how terrible an injustice may be, it does not justify what we see happing.

The Minneapolis mess looks to be getting quite a few people hurt in The States. Sorry to hear about that.
It has also spilled over into protests in London and Manchester. Can you take it back please?
It looks like mostly UNI Students here and possibly some of their lecturers.
ANTIFA do like to recruit from the know-it-all university age group.

A country with many laws is indictive of underlying turmoil in part of its population base, with those intent to do evil at the first opportunity that presents itself. Law-abiding citizens, who are born again, do not really need laws to govern their behavior as they rely on their moral spiritual compass. Otherwise law-abiding non-Christian citizens must rely on the ethics as decided by the secular world to govern and regulate their behavior.

Peaceful protesting is an oxymoron in action.
Agree, some are children who want to act out...especially those who are destructive.

I wonder why their protests are not hunger strikes?

Perhaps because the protest is based on anger rather than seeking the truth. Protests are an ethical form of showing their true colors. There are exceptions to this of course, but destructive violent behavior seems to be the norm and for the most part it is condoned by elements of government institutions.

Clearly we need massive reform and police procedures
Sandra Bland pulled from her car Jim Crow style over a cigarette
A family in Phoenix held at gunpoint because their daughter shoplifted a doll
an elderly lady with dementia slammed to the pavement on Walmart parking lot
a 14 year old kid repeatedly punched in the face by a police officer over a cigarette
The list goes on but I think you get my point

cannot bear to watch anything like that, it is scary.
People in mobs just dont think in terms of public or private property or business, Im sorry. They are just angry, so rather than kill PEOPLE, they just smash walls and stuff. Cos there is nothing else they can do about it when police dont do as they should. Children do the same.

Yes, there are other things you can do than burn down businesses, loot and beat/kill people in the street. This has nothing to do with the death of Floyd. His family has pretty much begged people not to riot and yet they continue. It's being used as an excuse to be criminals, and it's wrong.

I can't believe that the Socialist Politicians in DC are actually getting involved in this "defund the Police" stirring. How stupid can they be?

Without a Police Force to "stand in the gap" between innocent, law abiding citizens and the criminal elements that infest our Cities, only CHAOS will reign....... Far more people will die without the Police than with.

Besides that, FAR MORE blacks are killed by OTHER blacks than have ever been killed by the Police.

Stupidity runs rampant within our Society these days.......goodness

I don’t hear no one saying why didn’t the Asian cop do something.
Just wanted to say. The people did keep asking him to do something over and over. One reason he is being charged.

Go look at the stats 2017-2019. Then try to find anyone talking about them. Shocking no? Well I mean.. here we are with so much INFO in our hands and so many are blind to it?

I don't know. But when I hear ( not here) about some talking about how some life matters. I from the start was thinking.. what about all those that been killed in places like Chicago and other places. This was going on for how long? They never said a word then. NOW they care? No.. I think SOME are tying to just crash America.

I then .. well never looked into it but how in some cities there are more black cops then white. MAN how they must feel. I was watching these videos of reg people that are heros? There were so many where cops did unbelivible things. Think.. to be willing to die for that person you don't know. I watched them risk their life for someone the world does not even care about. Then.. to just save a silly cat. To stop traffic so that elderly could get across.

Praise GOD our Father sees it writes it down to always be remembered. It was .. was it not for one small moment.. we all saw something and were all moved. Cared.. where we just cared about that life. Hard to see it but remember its happening every day.. I don't mean by cops. A 17 year old girl. A christian.. seeking to be free. Been there since 2018. I wonder if shes knows someone out there is thinking about her.. praying for her to be set free. I can not even grasp what our Father knows.. sees.

The the solution is police reform
Not not defunding the entire police department
I'd be okay with hanging crooked cops on the courthouse lawn

With a trial first of course...
