Apologizing for his bad choice of expression before 300 + million people. Never done that myself...
Could you do that even if you wanted to?
When someone prefaces and tries to makes excuses prior to apologizing, it sort of defeats the purpose of apologizing. When someone apologizes and in the same breath says, "but Hillary..." that really means "forget everything I just said, now listen to what I'm about to say".
Maybe Trump was sincerely apologizing, I won't make a definitive claim either way, but I can understand why people think it wasn't sincere, especially considering his past sentiments about him not apologizing or asking for forgiveness
(not even from God).
