People like that seems like I can smell em coming before they get here.

To some, the smell of life and to others like myself, the smell of death.

I was having a conversation with my mom the other day. We were talking about her parents and grandparents. They were all devout Mennonites. Came over here from Prussia. My grandmas mom told my grandma there was a witch under her bed when she was a child to keep her in bed. My mom grew up under a religious regime. Dancing was a sin, cards were a sin, movies were a sin. Most of her brothers turned out to be alcoholics and broken people. It's amazing to me the kinds of unhealthy crap that is put in our heads by family and friends. We really should question everything we think we know and attitudes we hold. I know I do.

I can't stand Obama but most Trumpers hate Obama just because he is a black man in the "White" house

I was trying to come up with why that post hit me so weird, but you said it so good. I get that people have been mistreated but there is just something about people who choose to live in the past that never sits well with me. As a matter of fact, living in the past is unhealthy for a person and for society as a whole... and it all it does is define everyone who disagrees with them as being a racist or whatever their "pet" offense is. I always think of Gollum and in regards to people who stay offended for their perceived treatment (sometimes right, sometimes wrong) of people in the past. No solutions, except to step on the heads of those who "deserve" it in their minds. Anyway, here's Gollum....he's disgusting.

I don't about you ,but I don't like the top three candidates even though I praying that Hillary gets arrested by the FBI for basically being a trader. but the media what made this whole situation the worse of the worse, I have been looking at Gary Johnson: Fiscal Republican, Social Liberal. Yes, I know certain things do bug me but I think he is more conservative then I think, I don't how I ending up with siding with trump when I absolute despise him.

Having to choose between Trump and Hillary....I liken it to someone holding a gun and asking me to choose which leg to shoot me in

I decided to do a little experiment and I didn't listen to any news since I went to the Trump rally. My impression of him was quite different than what you get with the sound bites on the msm.

Anyway, I only looked at what people here had to say about Trump. They were mostly things like scam artist, demagogue, liar, phony....pretty much things you would hear on radio or from pundits who dislike him. Just curious as to what people listen to in regards to Mr. Trump and what kind of info ya'll seek out on him.

Where do you get the info that's stored in your head about him and has it become automatic? It's an honest question and one I'll force no one to answer honestly and objectively. :)
I live in Philly. Because I live in Philly, we've been getting Trump stories from way back when he started making the Taj in A.C. (Wow! I just checked. I've been hearing about Trump since I was in Jersey going to college. Dang! He's younger than I thought and I'm older than I like to imagine.) A.C. is part of the viewership of the news in Philly, so we keep up with what's happening there too.

Trump was a bit brash but he was part of those folks who would raise revenue for "higher education and senior citizens" by making A.C. the Las Vegas of the East Coast. (And, yes. I was young and dumb, because I believe the politicians when they said taxes from the casinos would better education. I'm still waiting for that moment.)

Trump and Winn were heroes back then. Fast forward to the early 90's with a here-or-there story of something Trump did with the Taj, and suddenly he and the Mrs. were untying the knot. And then, although the economy was doing fine, suddenly Trump was broke. And then something happened (I think his dad died, but kind of vague what happened after all these years, something about he ended up with a fortune that made it public, so it couldn't disappear like the rest of his money), and he wasn't broke anymore, but the marriage ended. Next marriage ended, and he was broke again right before the papers were signed. This time it stuck, until after the papers were signed. He has a tendency to go broke at the end of his marriages but financially springs back miraculously right after.

And then, yes, much in this political rhetoric with the elections, he opens his mouth and swigs long on his odorous foot. The commentator for FOX was a bimbo. So-and-so knows nothing and is a complete idiot. He's back to not allowing any Muslims into this country again. He's sticking with the Mexico wall. Basically he's got delusions of grandeur on what he will do for the US after proving he will do whatever he feels like at the moment. His answer to debt is to declare bankruptcy. I get that works for business but the US government is NOT business. He is incapable of keeping his opinions about anyone or anything to himself, which I STILL maintain is utterly ridiculous for someone who then has to talk to the same leaders he will call idiots and liars months later to resolve some dispute.

Where do I get my news now? I look at computer screens throughout the day -- my homepage on three different IP's plus the residents' computers at the nursing home. Oh, and hubby is as quiet and unopinionated as I am about politics, so we bounce off one another. (He's voting for Trump if for no other reason then hoping to sway the Supreme Court for a couple of decades after Trump screwed more up. I'm considering that, but still have the same problem. There is no "lesser evil" this time.) When I see a story that interest me, I google it, go down the list and look for a reliable source. I'm better at remembering unreliable sources than reliable.

Unreliable:
Yahoo
MS networks
wiki (although wiki can lead me to leads on more reliable)
CNN
Talk radio
Joe Schmo's blog (and I still consider Huffington another Joe Schmo.)

Yes, I will go for FOX -- the main network, not the local affiliate. I usually go for a conservative source if I first read it on a liberal source.

But truthfully? I think critically, so I can poke holes in most articles. I was trained to write unbiased, so I know what makes stuff biased.
