How exactly will Trump defend the rights of the unborn, do you think Roe V. Wade can be overturned.
It is very easy for any politician to state I support the rights of the unborn and know he never can act on his words.

ummm

a number of states have already successfully changed abortion laws being emboldened by a President who is pro life

it is very easy for some to twist the facts it would seem

do you know the facts of the decision made by the Supreme Court?

judges change their minds all the time and with some extreme leftists saying it is ok to kill a baby that has been born and is doing fine, well people with some morality actually are stunned and demand this not be allowed

please try to keep up

President Trump has most definately had an impact on abortion rights. It is either prejudicial or unaware of the facts to say otherwise

Abortion Bans: 9 States Have Passed
Bills to Limit the Procedure This Year

By K.K. REBECCA LAI UPDATED May 29, 2019

Louisiana on Wednesday passed a bill to ban abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, making the state the ninth this year to pass abortion restrictions that could challenge the constitutional right established in Roe v. Wade.
Earlier this month, Alabama legislators voted to ban abortions in nearly all cases. Other measures, like Louisiana’s, have limited the procedure to earlier in pregnancy, typically around six weeks.

Here is how limits on abortion have changed across the states this year:

New abortion ban
Abortion ban before 2019

Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi and Ohio stopped short of outright bans, instead passing so-called heartbeat bills that effectively prohibit abortions after six to eight weeks of pregnancy, when doctors can usually start detecting a fetal heartbeat. Utah and Arkansas voted to limit the procedure to the middle of the second trimester.
Most other states follow the standard set by the Supreme Court’s Roe decision in 1973, which says abortion is legal until the fetus reaches viability, usually at 24 to 28 weeks.
The latest bans are not yet in effect (Kentucky’s was blocked by a judge), and all are expected to face lengthy court battles — indeed, their proponents are hoping they will reach the Supreme Court.

The latest bans are not yet in effect (Kentucky’s was blocked by a judge), and all are expected to face lengthy court battles — indeed, their proponents are hoping they will reach the Supreme Court.
“Some sponsors evidently want to set up a test case to challenge Roe v. Wade,” said Clarke D. Forsythe, a lawyer for Americans United for Life, an anti-abortion advocacy group.
In recent years, Republican legislators successfully pushed bills to restrict abortion by targeting providers, for example through mandating waiting periods for patients or hospital admitting privileges for doctors. Many states limited the procedure to 22 weeks, but until this year, six-week bans were largely seen as too extreme; two that passed, in Iowa and North Dakota, were later struck down in court.
Abortion rights advocates say limiting the procedure to before six weeks in pregnancy is effectively a complete ban, since most people do not learn they are pregnant until later.
Two states that previously passed complete abortion bans saw those measures blocked: A 2006 bill in South Dakota was repealed in a referendum, and a 2016 Oklahoma bill was vetoed by the governor.

Are there only two sides for or against?

My feelings are not even in play, why does everyone always come to this "like" 'hate " paradigm it gets rather tiring.

Most of the people I work with are Jewish and you know what we go out for bite together after work so please stop with the personal insinuations.

How exactly will Trump defend the rights of the unborn, do you think Roe V. Wade can be overturned.
It is very easy for any politician to state I support the rights of the unborn and know he never can act on his words.

What has the Republican party done to ensure second amendment rights?

Last I heard they are begining the slow process of chipping away at that right?
You are smarter than this, to ask these silly questions. You are now against Trump because he actually did what he said he was going to do and unashamedly support Israel and move the US embassy there. You may be able to pick a policy here or there, but you support almost all of what he has done. From tax cuts to immigration to Supreme court nominations and on and on.
It's the ISRAEL issue that you chose to try and bash him on with a garbage article about Jews and Israel. If you were one of the many ignorant lemmings I could say, so what, but you are not. You are highly intelligent and informed. So what am I left with? I S R A E L!
With your replacement theology, and the available info, it doesn't take a rocket scientists to figure out your beef with him.

Now, it is almost laughable for you to say he hasn't had a MAJOR impact on saving human babies. Read this list, and understand the FIRST act as President, while Obama's stench was still in the air, was re-enact the ban on funding for foreign abortions:

✅ Appointed Pro-Life Judges
During the 2016 campaign, then-candidate Trump promised he would nominate pro-life justices to the U.S. Supreme Court. In the final presidential debate, Trump stated, “I am pro-life, and I will be appointing pro-life judges.” President Trump has already made significant progress on this commitment to the Pro-Life Movement. In April, 2017, Judge Neil Gorsuch was successfully confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court. And in October, 2018, Judge Brett Kavanaugh was successfully confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court. To date, 144 of President Trump’s judicial nominees have been confirmed, including two Supreme Court justices, forty-three U.S. Courts of Appeals judges, and ninety-nine District Court judges.
✅ Permitted States to Defund Planned Parenthood of Title X Funds
In April 2017, Congress sent a bill to President Trump’s desk that permits states to defund Planned Parenthood of Title X family planning funds passed in Congress. President Trump signed the bill which reverses an Obama-era rule that disbarred states from doing so. Because this was passed using the Congressional Review Act, future Administrations cannot enact a similar rule to Obama’s.
✅ Stopped Tax Dollars Funding Abortion Overseas
President Trump not only reinstated the Mexico City Policy, but expanded it to the new Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance program. This new policy ensures that our tax dollars are protected from funding the abortion industry overseas across ALL global health spending, not just family planning dollars. The Bush-era Mexico City Policy protected roughly $500 million in spending – the new Trump policy protects over $8.8 billion overseas aid from funding abortion.
✅ Defunded the Pro-Abortion UNFPA
The UNFPA has long been complicit in China’s oppressive population control activities, including birth limitation policies and forced abortions. President Trump’s State Department cut U.S. Taxpayer funding to the UNFPA.
✅ Required Health Insurance Companies to Disclose if Plans Cover Abortion
The Trump Administration Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) issued a rule requiring that insurers specify in each plan Summary of Benefits whether the plan covers abortion. The administration also requested input on how to better enforce the limited abortion provisions contained in Obamacare. Until Obamacare is overturned and replaced with a system that does not subsidize abortion coverage, insurers must make abortion coverage clear to persons shopping for a plan.
✅ Settlements & New Rule Regarding HHS Mandate
The Departments of HHS, Treasury, and Labor issued two interim final rules, which means they took effect immediately, while allowing a comment period, that provide permanent, enforceable relief from the previous HHS mandate for both religious objectors, such as Little Sisters of the Poor, and moral objectors, such as Susan B. Anthony List. The new rule also exempts private employers and educational institutions that have sincerely held religious beliefs or moral objections against providing contraceptives or abortifacient drugs.
✅ Strong Pro-Life Appointments to Key Positions Including:
Vice President Mike Pence, Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
✅ New Office for Conscience Protection at HHS
In May 2019, the Trump administration finalized new regulations to strengthen enforcement of federal laws protecting the conscience rights of health care workers who do not want to participate in abortion. The regulations clarify what recourse is available to victims of discrimination under the law and what penalties the HHS Office of Civil Rights may enforce for violations. Additionally, in January 2018, the Department of Health & Human Services announced the creation of the Conscience and Religious Freedom Division within the Office for Civil Rights. This new office works to protect health care professionals who do not want to participate in abortion. In May, 2019, HHS issued a proposed rule amending Obama-era regulations, clarifying that Section 1557 shall not force a recipient of federal funding to provide or pay for an abortion. It shall also be consistent with the First Amendment and with pro-life provisions, conscience provisions and religious liberty protections in current law.
✅ Allowed States to Defund Planned Parenthood of Medicaid Funds
The Obama administration attempted to prevent states from defunding Planned Parenthood of Medicaid dollars, issuing guidance claiming this may be a violation of federal law. In January 2018, the Trump administration rescinded this guidance, allowing states to defund Planned Parenthood of Medicaid dollars as they see fit.
✅ Cut Planned Parenthood’s Tax Funding by up to $60 Million
In February, 2019, the Trump administration finalized the Protect Life Rule to redirect Title X family planning program funds away from the abortion industry. The rule advances President Trump’s promise to stop taxpayer funding of abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood, who will no longer receive Title X funding if they choose not to comply.
✅ Canceled Huge Contract for Taxpayer-Funded Experimentation with Body Parts of Aborted Babies
In June, 2019, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced they would not renew a major contract with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) to fund research using the body parts of aborted babies. (learn more)

I never stated anything about a "major" impact.

My statement was in regards to Roe v. Wade the law, not funding and not what the states are doing.
He can appoint more conservative Supreme Court Judges which is fine, the point is that Roe v. Wade is law put in place by the highest court in the land.
Judges must make decisions based on the rule of law and precedent. That was my point.
What he has accomplished while certainly helpful to the pro life movement can be undone by another administration.

My overarching point is this, politicians do what is politically expedient and they are more or less willing to enact certain measures to maintain their base.

What one has to examine are the other actions, thus my statement on gun rights.

I will leave that up to your capable hands.

An entirely irrelevant, unsuccessful attempt at a personal attack upon someone whose opinion you disagree with. The sign of a person who does not have a substantial, reasonable argument with which to respond. Your president is by many accounts a dishonest, unscrupulous, childish, churlish, unqualified and narcissistic danger.

A very small way for you to behave.

It is too bad though you mixed the relevant with the irrelevant.

Certainly the office of the Presidency has been changed and I wonder it will ever recover.

Does being a Christian forum mean that people can't voice opinions on what is often termed "leader of the free world"? I fail to see how the status of this site in any way is interlinked with having positive views about Donald Trump. The man has been caught lying a litany of times; is a relationship cheater and a scoundrel by many accounts; and continuously fans the flames of divisions by using racist and nasty rhetoric.

I don't see why the man deserves gentleness, patience, kindness or love, when he so often fails to show it himself. People with power have to be kept in check by people who voice their opinions and fight for their rights.

If we are truly Christian, we are no longer our own, we have no opinion, we belong to Christ.
When we insist on "our opinion" we are living to ourselves and not to Him.

Oh look, another area President Trump is having massive, REAL WORLD positive results for Christians. But heck He likes Israel, so who cares about that stuff. He has to go for that crime:

Stras, David Ryan
Born 1974 in Wichita, KS

Federal Judicial Service:
Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit
NOMINATED BY DONALD J. TRUMP on January 8, 2018, to a seat vacated by Diana E. Murphy. Confirmed by the Senate on January 30, 2018, and received commission on January 31, 2018.

Federal Court: Christian Videographers Cannot Be Compelled to Work Same-Sex Wedding
by Jerry Lambe | 2:31 pm, August 23rd, 2019
The United States Court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit on Friday ruled that Minnesota may not compel videographers to produce wedding videos for same-sex weddings, as it would infringe on their First Amendment rights to free speech.

In a 2-1 decision penned by Circuit Court Judge David Ryan Stras, the court wrote that wedding videos “are a form of speech that is entitled to First Amendment protection. The Supreme Court long ago recognized that ‘expression by means of motion pictures is included within the free speech and free press guaranty of the First and Fourteenth Amendments.’”

Now how about putting disdain for Israel and the Jews aside, and realize that helping to elect a Democrat, by abstaining, or 3rd party nonsense is ignorant, selfish and giving aid and comfort to the enemies of Christ.

Honestly @PennEd How is not voting for a republican or a democrat helping the democrats? Many of us choose "The Way" from the book of Acts as the model for Christian churches today. Their was nothing Capitalistic about them. If we choose to be, "in the world and not of the world" are we not
doing as New Testament scripture instructs. Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's to me means pay your taxes.

If you walk up to a roulette wheel and put money on red, twelve and even the odds are all 3 are going to hit 1 out of 35 spins! So Trump get's it right sometimes. That proves nothing to me considering his cabinet choices. Not a conservationist on it. How can they call themselves conservatives?
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Abortion, gay marriage, socialism, Israel, all those opinions are not my own, they come from the Bible. And therefore I vote accordingly.
