This is why I think religion is the worst thing that ever happened to humanity. She's human. She was afraid. The doctors told her that her baby would die anyway it would suffer great pain. She wanted to spare her baby that pain and not risk her own life in the process. She's not teaching an agenda but merely explaining why she did what she did. The difference between me and you is I have empathy and you dont
Your problem is religion. I have a relationship with Jesus. You should try it. You'll see that water is indeed wet and the sky is blue.

Jesus was religious. He practiced all of the Jewish customs. And where is your empathy for the child whose chance at life was stolen?
We've been over this. The child was going to die anyway but not before suffering excruciating pain. I refuse to demonize this woman for wanting to spare her baby that pain

For some reason I wasn't able to read this story the other day. Ive been having CC glitches.Just a few points I'd like to make:

Quote " As I heard Donald Trump talk about babies being “ripped” from their mothers’ wombs, as if ending a pregnancy is a reckless, irresponsible afterthought, my outrage poured down my face in angry tears.

There is no way in saying that abortion is not a brutal act. It is,no matter what the reason,it is a baby being ripped from the mothers womb.It is ending a life. There is no nice way to describe it. Abortion is wrong and it is murder.

Quote "
Trump, who has never been pregnant and presumably has navigated this far in his life without undertaking any difficult, gut-wrenching, gray-area decisions, used my own pain — deep, deep pain — to advance his political agenda."

She has no idea what decisions Trump has had to make, gut wrenching or otherwise. His political agenda is the same as the Republican platform, we are against abortion and consider it murder, most Christians do.

Quote "
“It’s your choice, of course,” they told me. “You can terminate the pregnancy and deliver the baby now, or wait.”

My cousin and his wife who are not Christians were told this same thing. They decided to have the baby and today that child is 100% healthy, not a thing wrong with her.

Quote "
I went home that night and cried, like I did for months and months after that day, but I never had a second thought about the right thing to do. "

I dont see here where she said "I cried out to God". Not saying she didn't,but odd that she did not say it,nor mention faith at all.

Quote "
It never even occurred to me that someone else — the government? — would have anything at all to say about my own gut-wrenching grief."

Ok I understand that she didn't intend to have an abortion until she was told the child would be ill. But thats not a blanket reason that women have abortion. When a woman says they don't want gov't having a say its clear that they are not pro life.

Quote " I take issue with your characterization of my grief as a clear-cut morality test."

Abortion is wrong and it is murder,it is that clear cut and she as a Christian should not be making it seem otherwise.

Quote "
But it’s my conviction that every woman deserves that right in a situation where there are no easy answers, no pious pronouncements, no political solutions that could ever, ever fix the gaping, aching emptiness in her arms."

No, a woman doesn't deserve the right to murder her child. Her circumstances were somewhat different, though I still disagree with her choice. Her intention was to have the child. But to make a blanket statement that we should be ok with abortion,no,she's wrong.

If you go to her Twitter feed and read the page you will find this interesting post ...Riverside {her church} Girl Scout Troop....hosted by? Michelle Obama. Hummm So do you believe her story is unbiased now?

There have been 54 million abortions since Roe vs Wade, you may want to talk to your friend Jesus about that.

Nope.
Jesus vehemently chastised the Pharisees for their religious mindsets. I wish Christians would realize that they're defeating their own cause by being so pompous and self-righteous
Are you saying that Jesus didn't practice Judaism?

Well by your logic we'll be ending the suffering of people in the 4th trimester in no time. I think you secretly like Hitler. Lol

you sure do seem to agree with him on this front anyway.

You don't know the child was going to die. Your lack of faith is pathetic. I'm not demonizing her as a woman, I'm slamming her with full force because she's a Christian leader who shows the poorest judgment possible, then criticizes a political figure in an attempt to make herself look and feel better.

Liberalism 101: losing the debate? Deflect the conversation to focus on your opponent. I'm surprised you're not calling me a racist. Back to the point, Jesus is well pleased with my passion to defend our brethren in the womb, even if the child would have been indoctrinated into liberalism under the guise of that pathetic excuse of a pastor.

I know right... not wanting her baby to suffer is just terrible of her. Not wanting to die is also terrible of her

I actually feel bad for you. Your thinking is so warped it's hard to get your mind around it.

"Eh, the baby is gonna die anyway, let's just put it out of it's misery by having the head stick out and thrust scissors through the neck"

Yeah. That's probably not too painful for this sweet innocent girl!

Non sequitur. To live is Christ; to die is gain.

I would reply the following to you:

"if stupidity was a crime you'd be facing life" but I don't feel like being banned just yet so I won't say it.
