The Associated Press has demanded that George Zimmerman halt the sale of one of his paintings because the news agency says it directly copies an AP photo.

George Zimmerman's exact whereabouts are unknown, and an email address and phone number for him could not be found. His brother, who has frequently served as his spokesman, did not immediately respond.

But, on Twitter, George Zimmerman wrote Friday evening: "No worries AP, I'll just take whatever U sue me for off your tab when I'm done suing you :) Or... I could put out how much U offered me 2.."

AP says Zimmerman painting is copy of AP photo

Now here's a somewhat similar case that occurred when a street artist allegedly used an AP photo of Obama to produce the famous "Hope" painting:

Obama "Hope" Artist Faces Criminal Investigation Over Use of Photo

In the "Hope" case, the street artist (e.g. Fairey) made the mistake of lying to the court about where the photo he used for his painting actually came from (it came from AP as AP was asserting) and destroying evidence.

As a result, he pleaded guilty to criminal contempt of court for "destroying documents and manufacturing evidence" and was sentenced to 300 hours of community service, ordered to pay a $25,000 federal fine, and placed on probation for two years by U.S. Magistrate Judge Frank Maas.

AP and Fairey settled though I can't find any details as to the settlement provisions online so the "Hope" case is now history. AP And Shepard Fairey Settle Lawsuit Over Obama Image; Fairey Agrees To Give Up Fair Use Rights To AP Photos | Techdirt

Back to Zimmerman. It looks to me like Zimmerman walked into yet another lawsuit in my opinion (who knows how many are presently ongoing?).

I wonder, was it deliberate? Was he aware that producing a painting off an AP photo would result in an ongoing lawsuit which would garner far more press for much longer than a simple unveiling of a painting which would grab headlines but then disappear? Is this part of his plan to punish the prosecutor by ensuring her face with those words in that light are perpetuated in the press for a long time to come?

For someone who appears to have a low IQ, George might be a mastermind... lol.

If you're a celebrity, even a black celebrity, George Zimmerman wants to fight you in the ring. He said he will fight "anyone."

George Zimmerman Agrees to Celeb Boxing Match -- I'll Fight Anyone, Even Black People | TMZ.com

He has his first fight scheduled for March 1st but no details yet on who it is. All the money's going to charity so he's fighting for free.

George said to email him if you think you've got what it takes to beat George and want to fight him, email [email protected]

I don't know George. I think you're losing it pal.

Nah.......though Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton would be good.

Or any of the slanted news reporters

Or the poorly informed actors and athletes who thought Zimmerman was a racist.

I bet Nancy Pelosi would give George a run for his money

DMX, the Game, and several others have stepped up and accepted George's challenge. The only remaining question now is who will George choose to fight. George is contracted to fight someone. He has a contractual obligation. We just don't know yet who it will be. The promoter of the event and George are currently deciding.

George versus the Game?

On a sidenote soninme, I used to get off the block from time to time and travel before I started following the Lord back in the day and some of those travels took me to some very different kinds of places. Once, I was in this blues joint full of Hessians and Kid Ramos showed up on the little stage up front with some of his boys and started playing. It was obvious he was angry as a hornet and I don't know why (maybe the owner stiffed him on part of his payment?).

Well this rockabilly guy in a lettermen's jacket in a booth apparently had a "thing" where he would wash down some uppers with his whiskey and beer and then sneak onto the stage and do a little a dance next to the band while it played. I suppose it elevated his ego or something who knows. Maybe he just blacked out and this was what he did in the alcohol black out.

Anyways, Kid wasn't having it that night. The rockabilly should have RAN when he saw the guitar get set down and the leather jacket peeled off and carefully set on top of the guitar but the rest of the band was playing so rockabilly just kept on doing his "thing."

I kid you not. Kid jacked him up and suplexed him off the stage into the crowd just like you see in the WWF and then climbed down onto the dance floor. The band played on but the dancers had moved out of the way. The bikers meandered over and formed a ring around them. This was going to be a fair fight. They went at it. Kid came out the victor and a beaten rockabilly got tossed into the alley.

I wish I could say that Kid climbed back on the stage and finished his set but Kid was in a mean mood and pursued the beaten rockabilly into the alley. I didn't stick around as the distant sounds of sirens could be heard. Check please!

Rockabilly must have survived as I never read the Kid was prosecuted. The civil lawsuit must have been something to behold though as the joint closed its doors shortly after that fight.

Anyways, just an old war story from the distant past. George versus the Game. If you ask me, neither can fight well and the size up looks in the ballpark so it's a fair match up. May the best man win... lolol.

Black male targeted random white male and murdered him playing the 'knockout game'. He could be out in five years with good behavior. The white teen is dead.

Zimmerman could have walked away after the police dispatcher told him to, but ignored her. Now he is feeling God's wrath and he is likely to never recover.

Im kinda of unsure why everyone has this idea that 911 dispatchers hold some level of authority in day to day life?

Yes, he could have. I would argue, like you, that he should have.

But Trayvon could have chosen to walk into his apartment and shut the door instead of violently assaulting Zimmerman. I notice you conveniently left that part out. No offense.

I don't believe police officers actually work as dispatchers anymore due to union issues and public funding issues (police officers cost more) and now non-sworn civilian employees work 911 dispatch so I'd have to agree with you as non-sworn civilian dispatchers have no lawful authority to order a caller to do anything.

that makes no sense. i have to assume the 911 operator is (potentially) in contact with others, including officers. i can't expect them to give me all the info, either. so there has to be a level of implied authority and trust.

unless a 911 operator was telling me to do something that was reckless or wrong, i'd feel obligated to follow their instructions.

i'm also rather hopeful that OTHERS follow the instructions of 911 operators as well, considering how badly things can go when they don't.

I'm going to stick up for Nautilus this time because I think he's right. You are the one dealing with an issue at the scene, not the 911 operator. They may offer advice but you need to use your discretion depending on the circumstances. They are not empowered to order you to do anything over the phone.

That said, Zimmerman should have had the sense to disengage when advised to do so by the 911 operator. I would have as Trayvon was merely suspected of petty burglary and trespassing. Pretty minor stuff.

George could have approached him with other neighborhood watch members on the complex he was neighborhood watch captain over when Trayvon returned to visit his mother and asked him what his business was on the complex.

That's what I would have done.

In trial it was brought forth that 911 operators must advise anyone in any incident to not get involved. If they tell them to get involved, the 911 service and operator could be liable for any damages. So, a 911 operator telling Zimmerman to not get involved was the standard reply and has no bearing on wether or not Zimmerman should have proceded or not.

The bottom line was, it was stupidity. On both parts. Both were liable. The only way, with what happened, Martin could have survived was if Zimmerman did not have a gun, and Zimmerman would have been dead. Another black kid in jail for murder....

and no news story.

Common sense didn't prevail because the 911 dispatcher gave GZ the best advice. He wouldn't be screwed up today if he had listened to her.

This might not be true. Martin had the choice to go home or toward Zimmerman. It took him 4 minutes to travel less than 100 yards to Zimmerman.

That is a long time.

Probably so, but we don't know that. Zimmerman could have persistently challenged him into a confrontation. We don't know what really happened. At this point ...only God & GZ knows. Nevetheless, GZ's life is all but over. He can only ponder why he made such a bad choice.

Have you ever been a neighborhood watchman? I was a neighborhood watchman for 3 months when I got enough. Did I leave because of the rude tenants & visitors that passed through? It was my partner that I worked with that made me quit. He wanted to "get into the face" of those who rejected his so-called "interrogation." I begin to fear for my life because we were unarmed. Therefore, I have a better insight into GZ & TM situation than you would.
