"The U.S. Justice Department said on Tuesday it will not file civil rights charges against George Zimmerman, concluding its investigation three years after the Florida neighborhood watch volunteer fatally shot unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin."

U.S. won't file charges against George Zimmerman in Trayvon Martin death

Have a nice day George. You're in the clear now. You made it. There's nothing outstanding. All the trials, investigations, and court cases are over and behind you.

Just be sure to keep an eye out for those "friendly" African Americans that want to murder you. I don't think they'll be going away any time soon. You know the routine. Watch where you go, always maintain situational awareness, and stay heeled.

George Zimmerman shot at. Suffers minor injury. George Zimmerman injured in shooting

Zimmerman, who no longer lives in Central Florida, was in town for Mother's Day and on his way to a doctor's appointment when Apperson began following him, West said. He said Apperson followed Zimmerman and at one point stuck his head out of his car and yelled, West said.

Soon after, Zimmerman made a U-turn in an attempt to get away, West said. Apperson also made a U-turn and followed Zimmerman for several seconds, the lawyer said.

"As they were headed the other direction, he (Apperson) pulled up alongside George's vehicle, pulled a gun and fired a shot into the interior compartment of the vehicle," West said. "He broke the passenger window and the bullet lodged inside somewhere up where George was sitting."

Does this strike anyone else as kind of like the Old West's gunslinger mentality -- "He's fast and I'm the one to take him down"? In Zimmerman's case, it's that his trial over the death of Martin made him famous, and people think they can "bully" him and either make a name for themselves, or get some money from a court somewhere.

I saw the final dying embers of the Old West as a young child. Then they died. They're gone. But I suppose you can rightfully say that the "gunslinger mentality" is part and parcel of the human experience throughout history in one form or another.

Zimmerman definitely has a tough row to hoe. When people trail you around town trying to murder you by firing bullets into your vehicle, you've got problems.
