FLATTERING TOUGNES EXPOSED

Flattery is beautifully crafted, like a statue made of pure gold
Who hasn't been thrilled by the things they've been told,
It gives us a verbal feast enjoyable like biscuits dipped in honey
Which we dine upon..whilst getting drunk on the of wine of trust..yummy
You're made to feel good/great/special/valued/loved/believed in
Wanted/accepted/adored/encouraged/recognised/beautiful..makes your head spin!!
Yet the words you devour are deceitful utterances wrapped in sugar candy
Sweet to the taste and tailor made just for you, whatever your fancy

A flattering tongue spurs lies from a heart of evil intent
They don't really care about you really,Deception is what they invent
Words drop from out of their lips like the warm waters fall at a waterfall
Exploiting your vulnerabilities in order to trick you..building a deceitful wall
That blinds the eyes of your heart to the truth. You don't realise they lying!
They want to deceive you!get something from you!..that's what they're been trying
Influenced by satan, their motive can even be to either trap or ruin you. They mean you harm
Their words attract the heart.Innocent looking..full of splendour and charm

I myself have flattered...I myself have been fooled by flattery too
Over the years I have learned and discerned these are evils I must not do
Such insincerity of heart.Purley motivated by sin with a desires to fool
Words become weapons of war..weapons you cannot see. words become a deadly tool
Seductive and manipulative with a darkened heart even deceiving the flatterer too
They are blind.wise in their own eyes. They cannot really see the evil that they do
Sin has no favourites. The flatterer is harmed too,for they too are deceived
Both hunter and prey are both caught into the net of satans lies, which both have believed

God sees all things, and he knows the motives and thoughts of the heart
Let our mouths be pure..yet taming the tougne is almost an impossible art
Small but powerful,Jesus warns that a person can be condemned by their very words
In ones life time one May utter trillions of words,so the thought might seem obscured
Yet Gods word is true,so seek The Lord to open your eyes,so that you can't be easily deceived
By the seductive words of a flattering tougne, where trickery and lies become conceived
Finally remember when a person is deceived, they don't know they are deceived
So god wants to lead you into all truth.Seek him and it's the truth you will receive!

Give us a verbal feast

I do agree if this is solely pointed toward flattery which are insincere, as one can feel flattered by good compliments given from people too who mean their every word of praise given to you. It is good to build up each other too, strenghten qualities and talents of the other person.

Lately it has gotten clear to me that not all of the thoughts and motives in my heart have always been good, and I am ashamed of this. God has corrected me very directly, and I am now learning to accept it, as well as to let go off all of these things which have been mostly based upon my own selfishness, as well as build upon lies which I have been told about since I was much younger. It is still tough and painful to me at times, but I will have to just trust God in this, and let Him heal my heart, and change my mindset. To change me more. And to learn setting my mind and focus on what's really most important.

Hi appreciate your response
Yes I am just specifically regarding when it is insincere.I have experienced a lot of this over the years (even from close friends) and it is all to do with the motives of the person praising you ect.ie..the bible mentions lots of scriptures in regards to this(example psalm 12.2-3) and many times you don't know the persons motives towards you at times and sometimes you find out they never actually ment what they we're saying.Flattery is also used in business to sell products and services esp when sales reps knock on your door and want to get you to buy their products ect.
Sometimes gifted individuals can have people around them (christian settings as well as secular environments) who can seek too flattery the individual yet their real motive is to use the persons gifting for personal gain and have not much care for the persons welfare).,the list is endless!!

Naturally building people up is paramount and as you know you yourself have experienced god blessing you through me so bring a source of encouragement, life and hope to others is key.People are of high importance and there are many wonderful people who are so kindhearted, sincere and loving and are real gems in life.So is many of them!

I am really glad that god has his finger on you and wants to cleanse your heart..he does this to me all the time and I can often sense having the wrong motives in things and yes it can be painful yet it's a great place to be because the bible says that the human heart is deceitful above all things.Honestly I see god making a beautiful work of art on you and just like Michael Angelou would spend time chipping away at the sculpture to make it smooth, defined, and take shape and form..so that is the work of God in this area.So it is a beautiful thing he is doing and in life you find that the hardest thing to fave is the truth of who we really are.He will complete the work he has begin in you...belive me MorningFlower...it is ALL good!!

I agree. When I say something consider it truth. I speak my mind. I won't be mean to you, instead of being negative, I will comment on something positive. So if you ask me if something looks good on you and my comment is that the color is beautiful and matches your eyes...as your friend I'm saying great color and it matches your eyes. As my friend you'll know that the fits not flattering but perhaps something in the same color...

I think much of the same like you. It is often more about the way in which something is said rather than what is said, a truthful comment doesn't have to hurt if it is said in a loving manner. Although sometimes if the other one for example struggles with low self-esteem she might take in a good meant comment badly, and then you need to explain it again for her letting her know that it wasn't meant bad. Most of the time friends will value the opinions of a truthful friend.

this is where we pray for maturity and discernment to come in, for we will ALWAYS have to deal
with that ole so deceptive tongue that this world has cursed us with...of course, until after
conversion, then this is where The Holy Spirit begins yet another one of our purge-ings
that we must 'over-come'...along with so many others...Jesus never fails those of us who
Trust and Rely and Obey Him and Him alone...PG...
