This spirit, bruised, weariness pursues, quivering lips wordlessly stumble into the current of my lamentation
Soundless sighs, slipping light, the silence builds into a deafening crescendo breaking this river wide
I am saddled in groaning, I am shackled to dance on the cord that binds me, and so I heave, this breath that shudders through clenched teeth

This soul in yearning, for One everlasting, let Your voice break forth and radiate in pure brilliance and luminosity
Bow down Your ear, press forth to be near, let Your strength be threaded to the frame of this fragile being
I send forth my trembling voice, calloused from pleading through empty noise, and I wait on, pining for the melody that will give birth to a new song

You are my breath, bound to me in oneness, heed my aching turmoil and exchange my weariness for a blessed rest
Lay me down in fields, speak this raging storm still, engrave my being to Your hand and open my eyes to Your will
Before You I have come, unravel this layer mapped by scars until before You I am undone, restore my soul, and breathe life in to these dry bones.

Really enjoy the way you put this together. Reminds me a bit of how i used to write and i've not seen much that reminds me of that.

PS, Ms. Arlene:

Here's a verse that, in the light of your poem you might like to meditate on:

"For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall." (Isaiah 25.4)

I've been mediatating on some Psalms for a part of my day, thank you, I can add this one, too.

Don't be so modest. You know a lot about poetry. You are perceptive and know a good read when you see one.
