I like to buy, make and test out yugioh decks and I even create my own cards. I'd post em here but I tend to get a lot of backlash when I post my art lol
What I mean is, I don't like the Knight (horse or rook) because of the way it moves on the board. I do like the Bishops, Queen and Castles because they slide.

Love chess....to be good you must be able to think numerous moves ahead.....and the Knight is a very valuable piece.....they all work in unison........even the lowly pawn has sacrificial value and even the power to resurrect any piece on the board

I had a game given to me for Christmas in like 1975 or 76......and used to play every day, was in a Chess club in school as well.....excellent game of strategy........
He definitely has a very good understanding of the game. He's right about the Knight too as it is very versatile piece and hard to defend against. Chess is a game of war based on time and space.
I have not played chess for a while, but I used to really enjoy it, even though it was often difficult to see beyond a few moves except in cases of obvious strategic ploys So I was never a master at it, either! I was, however, the reigning backgammon champ among a group of friends many years ago... I have not played that game for a while, either My daughter always likes to play board and/or card games during the holiday times. Hearts is one of my fave card games Some of the board games she has introduced us to are fairly complex, and can barely be learned in one sit down. Castles of Burgundy was one such game. Games like Balderdash are always fun
No, but there both anime geared towards children. Although the original yugioh is fairly adult. Both the anime and cards are censored in the US so you'd have to see the original japanese. I made a fanfic of yugioh a long time ago and cards a long with it. The concept is sinner and saint however showing you the cards with out an explanation would lead to severe backlash on this site which I wont even bother with.
My younger brother did as he had to learn the game as a part of a classroom project. I think that I was 14 or 15 when I began to learn how to play. Read a few chess books and learned all of the basic moves including 'en passant' which is a French term meaning 'in passing' concerning the pawns. A little tricky to understand but vital in defending against pawn promotion progressing to the last rank. A pawn that makes it to the last rank can be changed into any piece you chose. This is usually the queen but there are instances where you will promote it to a lesser piece to prevent a stalemate or a knight that will force a checkmate in a series of moves.
