What is keeping you from being as healthy/fit as you would like to be?

Mine: Sweet tea and Dr Pepper :)
I've cut back a LOT, but I know that's still a lot of sugar.

I teach dance as a hobby and run in the cool of the evening, so I do get plenty of exercise. It has been incredibly hot recently though, so I'll admit to slacking off a bit on my running. :) In my defense, my dog has too. :D

Ditto. And no house/yard. I don't eat loads of calories, and have cut almost all sugar out of my diet, but without time or availability of exercise, I'm still kind of stuck inbetween healthy and unhealthy.

Thankfully that is not something I have ever struggled with! The only times I lose sleep are when I'm up late talking to someone special. :/

I usually pity myself saying "No sleep for Stephen."

No, I am not kidding.

I have to admit that much of it is due to my own stupidity. I tell myself, okay, just do this one more thing and you can go to bed... And in the morning I go around muttering...you moron......STOP THAT! :)

Fortunately my job keeps me on my feet and active, and I enjoy hiking when it isn't too hot in the summer, or too cold in the winter. That aside, I'll admit that I don't eat as well as I should, and a 30+ year smoking habit sure isn't helping either.

It really depends on why I'm not sleeping. If it's because work is spinning through my head, I pop a movie in to distract my brain and usually I'll be out like a light pretty quick. If it's because of other things spinning through my brain I've found that just sitting down and writing is therapeutic and gets it off my brain so I can sleep. Unfortunately some times I am just dealing with a bout of either insomnia or a case of the it's 1 in the morning and I'm lonely's in which case I turn to a book or my guitar for a while.

For me, laziness, love of food, poor time management, and lowsey impulse control...pretty much sum up not only why I'm out of shape, but the majority of all my problems. (especially the last two...)

As far as not sleeping....I figure there are a plethora of reasons.

In any case, you just have to make a choice about who you will be or what you will do, and act on it. (It often is really that simple, but you'd be surprised what we choose, why, and how hard that can be to change.) Btw...not choosing is also a choice we act upon, so there really are no cop outs.

It's one of the many things I've been dealing with, researching, reflecting upon, ext...

I know how that feels Miss Jennifer. :( What helped me was finding Jesus, but if you've already found him then you need to see yourself through God's eyes and be aware of His unchanging love for you and His desire to bring you back to loving the life that he gave you. A life that His only son willingly died for. God bless.

He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

I went to Barnes & Noble today and bought 3 new books. Maybe that will help. :) Just walking around the store is relaxing. I could stay there all day I think.

I don't know whether to Thank You, or not Julianna, I know God, wants me to Exercise, but I don't want to.:( Especially since the Bible says it will profit.

For bodily exercise profiteth little; but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
