I just wanna share something that I have stumbled upon. I figured it will be encouraging to christian women (and men too).

Be inspired!

A woman is worth a lot... :)

In a brief conversation, a man asked a woman he was pursuing the question: "What kind of man are you looking for?"

She sat quietly for a moment before looking him in the eye & asking, "Do you really want to know?"

Reluctantly, he said, "Yes."

She began to expound:

"As a woman in this day & age, I am in a position to ask a man what can you do for me that I can't do for myself?

I pay my own bills. I take care of my household without the help of any man.... or woman for that matter.

I am in the position to ask, "What can you bring to the table?"

The man looked at her. Clearly he thought that she was referring to money.

She quickly corrected his thought & stated, "I am not referring to money. I need something more."

"I need a man who is striving for excellence in every aspect of life."

He sat back in his chair, folded his arms, & asked her to explain.

She said:

"I need someone who is striving for excellence mentally because I need conversation & mental stimulation. I don't need a simple-minded man.

I need someone who is striving for excellence spiritually because I don't need to be unequally yoked...believers mixed with unbelievers is a recipe for disaster.

I need a man who is striving for excellence financially because I don't need a financial burden.

I need someone who is sensitive enough to understand what I go through as a woman, but strong enough to keep me grounded.

I need someone who has integrity in dealing with relationships. Lies and game playing are not my idea of a strong man.

I need a man who is family-oriented. One who can be the leader, priest and provider to the lives entrusted to him by God.

I need someone whom I can respect. In order to be submissive, I must respect him.

I cannot be submissive to a man who isn't taking care of his business.

I have no problem being submissive...he just has to be worthy.

And by the way, I am not looking for him...He will find me. He will recognize himself in me. He may not be able to explain the connection, but he will always be drawn to me. God made woman to be a helpmate for man. I can't help a man if he can't help himself."

When she finished speaking, she looked at him.

He sat there with a puzzled look on his face.

He said, "You are asking a lot."

She replied, "I'm worth a lot."

it is a beautiful thing when a man finds a woman who he can compliment and who compliments him. a woman must be placed on a pedestal and loved with all of his heart and honor, just under God. when this man finds you, chefj, you will know him by his closeness to God. The closer to god he is the better he will be for you! And he will protect your virtue and honor you by his actions before and after your marriage! any man who does not honor you in these ways is the wrong one-keep waiting. If God wants you to be married He will show you and lead the right man to you........By the way, nice story.

Hello,

I found your story to be interesting enough to read it to my 27 year old sister and she asked me to save this short story in her computer because she agrees with what you wrote 100%. She is single of course, and she is waiting for the man to find her. And I dont think all hope is lost, there are still good men out there, so yeah, he will find you.

On a side note, do you know who wrote that? My sister has the habit of wanting to know who wrote the stuff.

I just reposted this from my friend's blog. She did not exactly mention if she wrote it or it was another repost. So i really have no idea im sorry. :)

I hate to be the one to say this but...

being worth a lot and being worthy of a lot are two different things

As a guy who fits all of the qualities mentioned there... I prolly wouldn't date that chick. It's good to have self-worth, but THAT is a little over-the-top in an unattractive way tbh.

Isn't it a little conceited to self-proclaim your all of those qualities and then call her
over-the-top
?

I called her view of herself over the top. I mean, there is NOTHING wrong with her expecting those things in a man. It's just the general way she came across throughout the entire conversation with this man. She claimed to be willing to submit, but everything about her screamed "DOMINANT." That's what I meant by over the top XD Prolly meant "overbearing" or somethin lol.

Of course I realize this woman is fictional, but still... =P

Thank you for posting that story..it was very inspiring...I am having issues with wanting a relationship and that connection and love..but as the story says...you cant find it...it will find you...

as for the men who have commented that its too much to ask...or too over the top...i think we as women realize no man is perfect...but we deserve things like men being honest and having integrity and wanting to be there for her...idk mayb im just a hopeless romantic liek that

I agree mate haha.

This fictional girl annoyed me.

It made me think of maybe a L'oreal ad with a really tall woman walking down the street wearing a handbag and high heels, but in slow motion like the ads, flinging her hair and smiling for the camera, oblivious to the world around her.

Although, I do think fictional girl is looking for the right things in a man.

This is obviously a fictional story. The man sat there the whole time and actually listened :D
