This can go both ways.

Men and women can put down a line in the sand and be like "You're either over there or over here. You decide."

Situations like these can arise from many circumstances.

1. A controlling person not willing to let things develop at a natural pace.

2. A person who views things as developing at a dithering pace, and wants to know if they're just wasting their time with an indecisive person.

3. A person who may have been cheated on, and they want to make it clear that it won't happen again.

Bottom line, if someone gives a statement like that, it's up to the recipient to decide if they wanna stay in that situation and make that decision. If they view it as controlling or as impatient, then they need to move along. Whether the giver of said statement is controlling, impatient, indecisive or whatever really isn't the issue. The issue is if the recipient wants to remain or walk out of said situation.

I'm going to go with 1 for 500 points, Alex. :) And you are exactly right. Moving along sounds like the best option. It's been my experience that when someone is that controlling in the very beginning, it can only go downhill from there.

This thread is really about the Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez breakup isn't it? He doesn't deserve her! He's a controlling little freak and she should have left him years ago.

I couldn't agree with this more. Sometimes #2 is a situation that is suffocating a person and they need to know they are in it for the right reasons.

This isn't a situation that can be judged without all the facts.

And plus, chances are, if you were certain about the guy, things would move along at the pace he wanted anyways. I've learned women are where they are and do what they do for a reason. As do men. But wording it the way I did makes me feel as if I have insight on women.

I hope your voyage inside the mind of a woman wasn't too traumatic. ;)
