I can take 10 min to type 3-4 sentences, because I want to make sure it is to the point, and there can be no misunderstanding of what I'm trying to say.

I've had too many bad experiences with emails and texts sounding bad because it is difficult to figure out the mood or state of mind of the person.

Great responses! I would do better to ponder issues for a while before responding, as some have said. In another context I made a comment which was "thought through carefully," but which came across in a way I hadn't even considered, and it sounded bad. Methinks I'm having to learn this (again!): the brain needs to work with the empathy and sensitivity filters before working with the mouth (or fingers!). The filters don't seem to function quite as fast, though that's probably by design.

I type it out.
I then stare at it for about a day and a half wondering if it makes any sense.

It never does.
I hit post.

........l don't like to waste too much time over thinking it.

Unlike who I am on a daily basis, I am not too overly concerned about it unless it's the BDF or if a person is asking for advice then I pray before I post. I realize I am not the best at grammar due to a learning disability I am challenged with, so I try to make things make sense so that takes a little time, but mostly I say what what's on my mind at that given moment.

But you should see how I write a paper for one of my classes. My last term I had to write a couple pages for my business class and I went through an entire notebook perfecting my thoughts and after I wrote the rough draft I spent another 6 hours typing it up because I didn't like it. When I turned it in the instructor graded it and handed it back the same day and I was like "I spent all this time working on it and he just glances at it for 30 seconds, oh well I got an A"
