My weekend? Actually I am working on creating an art lesson. I am a huge supporter of art needing to be affordable and accessible. I have taught people to make pine needle baskets with homemade centers, rug hooking with t-shirts and plastic (I promise it looks cool).
This last week I had written a poem that involved me painting a portrait. It inspired me to paint. Problem? I don't really paint and I didn't have paints on hand. What I did have was magazines with coloured pictures. I decided to use my kindergarten skill set and cut out pictures and glue stuff. Afterwards I have cookies, juice and a nap but I digress. Over the next three evenings I "painted" with these clippings. Eventually I created my picture. It referenced things that matter to me and got me out of my writing stalemate. I have decided that this weekend, I will try and create a class I can share for free with youth. The only cost is the glue. The base can be an old canvas, piece of wood or even an old, solid book cover. I love being able to pass on ways of art expression so that everyone can afford it. All art is communication. The medium doesn't matter (She now steps off her soapbox). Here is a pic of what I mean. No paint, just clippings.

Question: Do you have an artform you enjoy and would you share a photo of something you have made? (That is an actual request for a photo rather than a yes or no answer.
)
