It is not just personal opinion but actually you can see in nature that everything reflects, God doesn't use just the heavens to reflect or declare what is going on on earth, the moon, the stars, things that happen that humans know nothing about but can only speculate.
People are so afraid of seeming to follow astronomy or astrology or evil doctrines that they discount even nature and wondrous things that are clear to see but that they have no knowledge about. The heavens declare the glory of God. He has made everything work perfectly, even the earth where it sits in the universe. God is a God of detail and perfection, beyond what we can even comprehend.
Astronomy?
I don't know of any Christians afraid to follow astronomy. Astronomy is science, the study of the stars and the planets. Things like quasars, black holes, diameter of the sun, light-years, etc..
Nor do i know of any Christians discount nature out of fear. In fact, the bible itself, refers to the goodness of nature and how nature will sing the praises of God if no man is willing to.
Seems you've made this blanket statement that, i as a Christian of 25 years (take note i've been a Christian almost as long as you've been alive), don't see where what you've accusing has been the case with any Christian i've ever met.
In fact, one thing that has long been very common with Christians is the use of nature as a background for scripture or praise and worship.
This is a question about a spiritual practice that the bible clearly and strictly forbids. Of using the placement of stars and planets as a way to know what choices to make, or not make, to direct the path your life takes. Christians can, and many do, use nature, including the stars, as a source of inspiration and a reminder of the glory of God and the beauty of His creation.
Whatever minute sect of Christians you may have stumbled upon at some point that are seemingly afraid of nature, this is not reflective of Christians at all. So this blanket accusation you make, which includes your clear lack of knowledge on what the word 'astronomy' means, is based more in unfounded accusation than anything verifiable as all the evidence i've seen in 25 years counters what you are trying to claim.
So if people are concerned about falling into occult teachings by using inanimate objects that are part of the Creators creations, this does not mean they are not able to appreciate His creations. Its about using wisdom, as the bible instructs.
If you have any verifiable evidence to prove what you are so casually laying against so many Christians, i'd love to see it. Also i'd love to see how it is wrong to be cautious about falling into evil doctrines. Please share.
