It is not just personal opinion but actually you can see in nature that everything reflects, God doesn't use just the heavens to reflect or declare what is going on on earth, the moon, the stars, things that happen that humans know nothing about but can only speculate.
People are so afraid of seeming to follow astronomy or astrology or evil doctrines that they discount even nature and wondrous things that are clear to see but that they have no knowledge about. The heavens declare the glory of God. He has made everything work perfectly, even the earth where it sits in the universe. God is a God of detail and perfection, beyond what we can even comprehend.

By the way, if you are unsure that God shows things in the heavens, scripture is in Genesis 1:14-19.
And the 'wise men' were star gazers, followers, whatever you like to call them.

But like my first post said, people get too caught up in the foretelling of it all and in making predictions.

Astronomy?
I don't know of any Christians afraid to follow astronomy. Astronomy is science, the study of the stars and the planets. Things like quasars, black holes, diameter of the sun, light-years, etc..
Nor do i know of any Christians discount nature out of fear. In fact, the bible itself, refers to the goodness of nature and how nature will sing the praises of God if no man is willing to.
Seems you've made this blanket statement that, i as a Christian of 25 years (take note i've been a Christian almost as long as you've been alive), don't see where what you've accusing has been the case with any Christian i've ever met.
In fact, one thing that has long been very common with Christians is the use of nature as a background for scripture or praise and worship.

This is a question about a spiritual practice that the bible clearly and strictly forbids. Of using the placement of stars and planets as a way to know what choices to make, or not make, to direct the path your life takes. Christians can, and many do, use nature, including the stars, as a source of inspiration and a reminder of the glory of God and the beauty of His creation.
Whatever minute sect of Christians you may have stumbled upon at some point that are seemingly afraid of nature, this is not reflective of Christians at all. So this blanket accusation you make, which includes your clear lack of knowledge on what the word 'astronomy' means, is based more in unfounded accusation than anything verifiable as all the evidence i've seen in 25 years counters what you are trying to claim.

So if people are concerned about falling into occult teachings by using inanimate objects that are part of the Creators creations, this does not mean they are not able to appreciate His creations. Its about using wisdom, as the bible instructs.

If you have any verifiable evidence to prove what you are so casually laying against so many Christians, i'd love to see it. Also i'd love to see how it is wrong to be cautious about falling into evil doctrines. Please share.

Like a Christian song from the 90's, "why look to the stars for your answers when you can look to the one who made those stars". It is definitely true God does know best and when we seek God we will find answers.

Yes, I am doing well. Thank you for elaborating more on the subject. I love looking at the stars as much as anybody, but I always look at them in amazement because God created the sky and stars and he also created me and I ponder what his design is for me. I wait in anticipation for the answers and what God has designed for me.

The reason I don't believe in astrology is because it means 1) everyone born on the same day as you will have the same issues and outcomes in life 2) your destiny depends on what the stars and planets are doing..

This is not truly how it works, but it's how society typically views it.

I thought we were speaking of Astrology...........are they one in the same? Horoscopes and such seem to fall under Astrology and not Astronomy, but I could be wrong.........

Yes He has made everything work perfectly...........but He is not the Author of confusion, and we have His Written Word to reveal His Truths to us...........but if some want to stare at the stars and read their horoscopes to find out what the 'morrow holds...........it's ok with me. Jesus spoke of this though, and I'll go with Him.

Authority = Astrology

Who is your king? To whom do you bow the knee, and whose authority determines your future.
Astrology gains its authority from spirits, from the dead, who claim your future is written in the date you are born and your society.
Jesus came to say you are a slave to sin, circumstance and your society, but he can set you free.

By following astrology you are saying you future is defined by this world and not by Jesus, so denying his work and authority.
It is that serious and a sin against the cross. Once you give over your future to astrology, you stop the work Jesus is doing in you, and trample on the truths he brought you. So flee such sin and repent, or you very soul is at stake.

[h=1]Astrology[/h]From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search
Not to be confused with Astronomy, the scientific study of celestial objects.

Astrology consists of several pseudoscientific systems of divination[SUP][1][/SUP] based on the premise that there is a relationship between astronomical phenomena and events in the human world. Many cultures have attached importance to astronomical events, and the Indians, Chinese, and Mayans developed elaborate systems for predicting terrestrial events from celestial observations. In the West, astrology most often consists of a system of horoscopes purporting to explain aspects of a person's personality and predict future events in their life based on the positions of the sun, moon, and other celestial objects at the time of their birth. The majority of professional astrologers rely on such systems.[SUP][2][/SUP][SUP]:83

I have a lot of personal experience with astrology and witchcraft. Most of you know my story. If you don't, and you'd like to know, PM me. It really doesn't matter if we agree how bad or real astrology is. It's something that the Bible says to stay away from.

End. Of. Story.

You seem to have taken great offence at my post, as if I personally accused YOU of being scared.
Your post amuses me. You have taken it upon yourself to defend Christians the world over, when I said nothing of what you are supposing. I basically was saying people confuse astrology with astronomy and horoscopes get mixed up in it. The personality traits are based on where stars (astronomy) are when people are born. So although they are different, there are elements of astronomy in astrology. Comprehend?

You boast:
'I, as a Christian of 25 years (take note I've been a Christian almost as long as you've been alive)'

You sound like a self-important, egotistical bigot who thinks he knows more than the next person because he's "been a Christian almost as long as you've been alive)". Ride off on the same horse you came in on.

As I just explained to Ugly, astrology uses some astronomy. They are not the same.
But if you look at the moon, it affects the water and oceans on earth. Rainbows are for a sign. God likens His messengers in Revelation to stars. What do stars do?
How about the moon will be turned into blood?
There are a lot of things that happen in the heavens that coincide with events on earth, if one would take the time to study it. Of course, the danger is in using it to foretell or predict.

The moon's gravitational pull on the earths bodies of water don't have anything to do with Astrology or with what day a person was born on. It is a scientific reality that is proven. What are rainbows a sign for? That God will never destroy the earth by flood again? Maybe..........but Scripture says "bow" and while I can see how folks can go from "bow" to rainbow, many, many times it rains and no rainbow appears......is that also a sign? What do stars do?

You say folks mix up Astronomy and Astrology, it seems to me you are doing the same..............could be wrong, but it sure seems so................just saying

Excuse me! May I ask, according to the sun and the moon, what type of day will I live tomorrow?

http://www.eclipsewise.com/solar/SEprime/0001-0100/SE0029Nov24Tprime.html

For example, Joshua wasn´t afraid of asking God for a miracle like this: Josh 10:13 The sun stood still, and the moon stopped until a nation got revenge on its enemies. Isn't this recorded in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in the middle of the sky, and for nearly a day the sun was in no hurry to set.

PS

The personality traits are based " on simple observations. Nothing else. :)

Reading the rest of my post it was pretty clear i was calling into question the other users claim that Christians are afraid of enjoying the stars for fearing of falling into 'astronomy or astrology'.
