She likes perfume, and has a lot. But she only uses it if she is going somewhere I won't be. I often have to change seats in auditoriums because of some foul concoction someone has doused themselves in.

There are some bad ones out there. My father picked up one,I don't know which, and it had teeth I swear. Finally I had to tell him.He went right on wearing it. It just took my breath away. So my hubby and I got him Polo, he used to wear it so I reminded him why he liked it. I confiscated the other stuff and tossed it.

I have used nothing but unsented Old Spice for thirty years.

But when I was younger, my mother taught me to use After Shave.

She taught me to put ONE small drop in ONE hand, rub my hands together, then wipe my cheeks and neck with it.... THEN rinse my face off three or four times with clear water, and then wash my hands with soap. She said any more than that "hint" was a sure sign you came from the wrong side of the tracks.

Well I think my problem is from time to time my sinus is blocked so I can't smell anything, which is often a good thing. :) Hubby wears Phoenix Axe. The rest seemed strong. But I do notice just about every "star" has some kind of perfume. I saw a commercial with Johnny Depp where he's in the desert and it was a perfume he was promoting, weird. I said to hubby "ok we all know the dude reeks of weed". Like his acting sometimes but he seems like a weird little dude.
Heh. Expensive weed.

I've always wondered, what is the purpose of aftershave?

As in, if you're supposed to use it after shaving... Why is it that women don't use aftershave, too?

(This is an honest question--I've never understood what aftershave was and how it was different from cologne?)

Shaving is kind of an assault on your skin. And After Shave used to have medicinal properties. It was an astringent. Anymore, it really might be nothing more than a "stink-'em" fluid to cover up poor hygiene.

My granddaddy wore Old Spice, my dad wore Old Spice, I wear Old Spice.

Been wearing it since before it became trendy. I remember wearing it in high school and my female teachers telling me- in a unflattering way, that I smelled like an old man

Lol my brother when he was young bought a huge bottle of perfume for my mom and it was so unbelievably cheap he said, happy as a cheap Dutch guy. Lavender it was. She didn't use it.

Eh...Axe? Too expensive.

Why pay for that when I can get Drakkar for $.25 at the local truck stop men's room?

Seriously, though. I am extremely anti-scent.
