For some reason, I was never really into Culver's butter burgers (the mushroom swiss is ok), but thought their shrimp baskets were awesome, as well as their frozen custard!!! (Or was it yogurt... it's been so long, I can't remember...)
I just remember my (very thrifty) Grandma always insisting on getting the Kid's Meal (which she technically wasn't allowed to do, but you know those seniors, insisting on their way or no way) because it always had a coupon for a free scoop of custard.
I'd go to her house and she'd have a stack of like 17 coupons and say... "Honey, I'll treat you to a scoop of custard at Culver's." And I would be so embarrassed because the clerk would look at us like, "Here's that little old lady trying to rip us off again!!" I finally just insisted on taking her to dinner there and paying for everything because I don't like taking advantage of anyone.
But you should have seen how proud she was of those free coupons and "treating" me. I guess it's the thought that counts!!
This wasn't fast food but does anyone remember Bill Knapp's? The. Best. Cheeseburger. and. Chocolate. Cake. (A whole free cake on your birthday!!) Ever.
