Doesn't even have to be a dance, it can be any social, can even be a game night. Provided you live in a town with a church of your faith or have a vehicle to travel.
the only socials the local churches seem to put on are potlucks and I am not a fan.

There are never any game nights either. some have bowls during the day but most people actually have to work during the day.

My garden club is mostly women though it meets in a church. Never in over a decade of church going have I ever been to a church dance or heard of one being held.

schools and universities ALWAYS have a ball every year. Churches dont seem to do this. Maybe they think weddings are enough and figure people will just meet at those?

Hi guys! I really appreciate your response. It was very eye-opening. Met someone, we have the same strict biblical principles, respectful, and the real deal Christian. I hope this works out. I ask that you include me in your prayers. I don't want my heart broken and I'm striving to keep God the first in my heart and all areas of my life. I feel secure and satisfied in my relationship with God, but to have someone to encourage and draw me closer to God is also helpful. God bless 🙏🙏🙏🙏

I will pray for you to know God's will for you. It's wonderful you want to keep God first! This kind of thing takes much wisdom from above; may God give it to you!

Yeah that sucks, too bad it doesn't have a sports team.

There was talk of a basketball or netball team once but I never joined. I dont think it took off.

The dancing people do these days is not social. Its now a performance, and people dont want really want to do that unless they are trained or professional.

The one time I had a 'church" dance was sort of a one off for the children at a quakers summer gathering camp. We had a ceilidh but I decided to hold an impromptu dance for children with just music and nobody telling us how to dance as part of our worship

It was fun but the elders complained when it went past 10pm. Even though their own ceilidh went till midnight.

unfortunately I found out that quakers were maybe a bit too liberal for me as many of the elders were gay/lesbian and there was even one couple that was both had the same first name so I was terribly confused by them although they were nice people and Im no stranger to that lifestyle in my city, its everywhere, I just kind of have to distance myself from that. The camp was a christian camp and they said they didnt want them to return as they did not approve of gay couples.

I was not aware of just how many there were in Quakers. I dont know the answer to that one..though many christian couples do have children who identify as all letters of the alphabet and thats not something they can dictate about someone. I think physical abuse can undermine a persons identity and play havoc with the expression of their chromosomes. In the animal kingdom, if there arent enough males or females, some animals do actually transition. Snapper do, change from male to female.

When you ask God about it, is there a man for every woman and vice versa, often you'll find that males were killed off in war and there are too many females, so what the males did was have several wives. And they didnt see anything wrong with that in the OT. But heaven forbid if a female had five husbands as one revealed to Jesus.

On farms they just have one male for hundreds of females, kept as a stud. For breeding purposes and its all done by artificial insemination.

I guess its to stop fighting amongst males over females. I dont know. its all a bit strange to me. I wouldnt know what Christan dating is anymore, just seems the same as any other kind of dating except its 'your church or mine? ' kind of thing.

If they're looking for a unicorn, they're not ready for a real relationship yet. Too green. Let them get ripe before you try to pull them down.

No success. For every guy, there's around 8 women. Now try to find a believer in his mid to late 50's. Narrows the search even more. 🤦🏼‍♀️ churches are loaded with single women and couples...*sigh*

I dont ask men out anymore as they got nowhere to go, it seems they all just want me to go to their place.

Not saying they lazy, but seems to be the only place they can think of. Most wives I know had to give up their family and friends and even country to go wherever the husband decided HE wanted to go. it was never the other way round. Most of these wives ended up miserable because they had no friends or family other than their husband and were incredibly isolated. If they had children that was only consolation I suppose. But being around children all day everyday is not what women always want to do.

Try being in your early 70s, a widower, yet in good physical and spiritual shape. Then try living without intimacy after enjoying it for 40+ years. I don't mean sex ,either. I mean the loss of friendship, companionship and completeness. I trust non of you feel as empty as I feel right npow

I'm sure it will be worse for me when I get to 70. I feel like I've been alone all my life and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hi Joe,

Welcome to CC!

As you get to know people here, you'll find that there are quite a few members in the audience who have also lost their spouses. In fact, I'm thinking of one member who lost TWO spouses in a row by God's calling.

I'm not sure if you are interested in connecting with others who have gone through the same thing? Some are actively dating, some are not, and one I'm thinking of is remarried. I don't want to name any names just in case they would rather talk about their own experiences themselves (I just know these things about them from past public posts they have made.)

But many people here have or are experiencing what you're going through. I'm very sorry for your loss.

If you are interested in talking to others who can relate, please keep on posting and/or you might want to consider writing a thread asking to connect with others who have lost a spouse.

God bless and I hope you find fellowship here.
