I'm guilty of liking coffee that isn't recognizable as coffee anymore. I tend to use the coffee itself as a flavoring.

My dream cup of coffee would amaretto flavored with tons of real cream, sugar, whipped cream, piece of chocolate, and maraschino cherries. :D

My usual, down-to-earth coffee is mixed with low-fat milk and stevia instead. I prefer it hot, but like it iced in hot weather. I'm always conscious of calories, carbs, and sugar, so I have to tone it down for daily consumption. I'm also very sensitive to caffeine, probably shouldn't have it at all, but you know -- decaf just isn't the same.

So I try to limit myself to one cup a day, then have herbal tea and water the rest of the day.

A local coffee franchise here, The Human Bean, makes one of the most delicious coffee concoctions I've ever had -- the famous Snowy Mocha, described as, "a creamy blend of smooth white chocolate, espresso, and steamed milk," complete with a chocolate-covered espresso bean served on the lid of your drink.

Every now and then, I get a coupon for a free one of these, and I'm pretty sure it has enough sugar to kill a horse.

I take it home and split it into several containers (freezing a few,) then try to limit myself to only a few sips per day.

Great thread and poll, @enril! :D
Very foo foo!

Horses love sugar, a lump at a time.

Don't worry, every now and then I venture on over to "the dark side."

My tiny, 95-lb. mother loves dark, black, bold roast coffees that could knock a 300-lb. grown man off his feet.

A few weeks ago she gave me some to try and I told her, "This stuff is not only going to put hair on my chest, but I expect to wake up with a full beard and mustache the next day."

Decaf is indeed a heretic beverage. Maybe even worse. It’s like the man downstairs making all sorts of promises but then they turn out to be…decaf?!?!😂

I like my coffee hot and strong, and I only drink it black. No flavored coffees and nothing at all (at all!) added to it. Decaf or anything added is diabolical to my taste buds. As a teenager, I would take a quart sized thermos of coffee to school and keep it in my locker. I'd have a drink between classes and I'd drink it during lunch hour. Of course, it'd be long gone before the school day was finished. Then I'd make a fresh pot of coffee when I got home. Always hot and strong then and ever since. I intend to keep that way until I'm resting peacefully.

Love your meme, but coffee in a tea cup is sacrilege also.

It’s a mug for me!

When I was a fireman, we would make it and drink it by the potful at beginning and end of shift and all day in between. I would drink perhaps up to a dozen cups a day.

Had to be hellfire hot, strong and black.

I still like it hot, but now with a dash of French vanilla creamer. I’m very much a coffee snob, grinding my own whole beans one cup at a time with some fancy Italian coffee maker, for the freshest roast experience. I’m pretty much a barista, don’t you know—- I push a button.

For a time, my son and I were roasting our own beans as a hobby we did together. We bagged and sold for fun, and little profit, but life gets busy so it’s fallen to the side.
@MrE, thank you for your service as a fireman!

I think I also saw a post of yours a while back in which you said you didn't realize you'd posted on a thread in Singles and apologized because you are married.

I just wanted to take the opportunity to welcome you to our little corner of the forum. Years ago, Singles used to be pretty much almost exclusively singles, but over the years, traffic has slowed down and so now people just kind of post wherever they see an interesting topic. Many of us have been here a decade or more, so many of our formerly single peers have gotten married and fortunately, haven't left us.

We are also blessed to have picked up a few new married friends along the way. We singles need to hear from marrieds about what it's really like, especially during challenging times. Our hope it to encourage people from all walks as we all travel about the journey God has for each of us.

If you feel comfortable hanging out with us, I hope you'll be blessed by your time here. :D

We've also been running a lot of thread in the Family Forum to make our married friends feel more comfortable about participating.

As you can see, we kind of put forth a more "Let's Hang Out at the Coffee Shop"-type vibe in these threads. The focus is on fellowship, getting to know each other, and walking through daily Christian life together.

I like to say that other places on the forum are the sermon, while these more easy-going threads are the church potluck held after the service. :)

Oh my! I didn’t realize this thread was in the Singles forum too!

Why is it that you folks have all the pleasant threads??? Nice people like this should be all married up! J/K -Each to their own. I’ve been married 31 years and my wifey doesn’t even drink coffee. We make it work despite this major character flaw!

Thank you for the welcome here. I thought for sure I would be shunned, then banned.

Oh dear, I guess she was told to straighten up lol.
She should have been, but NO!

This nut job told her it was okay, and he had the audacity to tell me to be more understanding. I doubt that he’s even certified.

But here’s me, taking up your time and space—— the proverbial fat guy at the church potluck who brought only a bag-o-salad, but gets elbow deep in all the pasta dishes.

Have a great day all!
