Smart members don't share inappropriate details through PM's on the forum. In the situation I described, this all occurred after the member had added females from the forum to his Facebook and skype accounts. It took a lot of patience and shrewdness on his part ( and others) to pull this off. The forum mods had no access to the exchanges. The members that did this weren't technically in violation of the forum rules. I agree it's best to inform mods and to deal with problem members openly, but I can say from personal experience it often backfires. I think that is why many members just put others on ignore. Unfortunately the one thing I learned is to be careful who you add to Facebook or exchange emails with. These situations haven't deterred me in the slightest from looking for Christian friends online, but I'm just more careful now. On a positive note, since I've been contributing only negative stories to this thread, I did manage to become friends with this very nice female member from that forum. After a year of skyping and chatting, we met up this summer and spent a week exploring and sightseeing. So, it's still possible to avoid the creeps and make friends
Like Seoulsearch said, if something seems off in your communication with another member than it probably is.
