Whats the deal with these singles areas on CC? Far as I know this is not a dating site, so whats the problem? Maybe we should get a Married forum as well...making sure theres no exchange of words between married people and single people. Nobody has yet told me that having a conversation with a person who is single is an abomination in BDF, so why is it a problem in singles forum? Is there a hidden dating agenda endangering married people in there? A few hours back I was visiting the singles chat, and I was literally (yes, literally) laughed out of the chat room due to the fact that I am married. What is the problem? Is the single forum the CC freemasonry?
That was one smart-alec who apparently showed up just for you... because he left less than half a minute after you left. *shrug*

Don't worry, you didn't miss much last night. Even the one who suggested we meet didn't say anything. She popped in and out but never said anything.

The last community I left there was a big schism some years back, due, in part, because people who had been single and part of the site for a long time and then got married were not happy that they couldn't chat with their friends anymore in the single's area. Some of the senior staff at that time, for whatever reason, felt it was best to create this rule and the division. I'm really not sure as to the exact reasons why, can only speculate. But, as a result, many people actually did leave and joined other forum(s). That I do know, because there was a thread on it (who knows if it still exists with all the editing that goes on there) where people were voicing their anger over it.

As for marrieds in Singles (here), it doesn't bother me as long as the info is disclosed. Like I said, I don't want some jealous boyfriend or husband jumping down my back because he's irked that I'm chatting to his significant other and I didn't even know.

That chatting doesn't have to involve any agenda, it just can perceived that way by significant others.

This whole issue was decided in a few years back, both by popular vote and ultimately by Robo. Married and under 18 (the singles room/forums are technically 18+) are allowed in the singles forum/room. But anyone not single, or under 18, participating can have this right revoked if their behavior is not appropriate. Only the Women's forums and the Teen chat rooms are actively restricted to those that don't fall under those categories. So basically, if you can enter the room or forum then you have the right to participate, per the site owner, regardless of what any member says.

This was the popular decision by users as well.

I'm here now because I saw the title and the name Sirk. The title is interesting. Sirk has good things to say. So I thought I would respond. If the title is good, something I think I can contribute to, I just go to that forum.

Sorry about your divorce. Will pray for you.

People have to understand that the "SINGLE" area in the forum is not just for the single people... it is for all the really cool people!!

The problem is, if we named it "christians cool forum" people might get a little judgemental... but we are so cool that we attract other cool people... and the result is the coolest forum of the forum!! heheheheh

Simple!!

The Men's Only room is also men only. ;)
There is no men's only room.. We have a men' live chat.. But not a men's only forum.. Unless the live chat is what you were referring to.

Ah! So that's how I ended up in the Bible Discussion Forum.
To be honest, there's fighting going on in each one, it's like pulling a forum out of a hat, really.

Yeah... that's probably a good advice... but I love food as well... so there is a possibility I'll eat it before I ever get there.... :)

Problem is, I occasionally come up with an interesting idea for a thread and then I post it in the Singles Forum, because I don't want to deal with the people and the crap from the Bible Discussion Forum. But then, somehow the BDF troublemakers migrate to the Singles Forum thread and cause trouble. You can't win.

Room refers to chat 'rooms'. Forum refers to... well, forums. She stated room, and there is a mens chat room. Seems fairly clear that is what she was referring to.
