You're half right. You left out the, "your own personal walk and holiness part." The closer that YOU walk with the Lord the less appealing the disingenuous believer will be to y you. And the less you will be around them, bc, YOU will be where you're supposed to be. God bless you in your own personal walk.
thank you. that is so brilliant.

If a man isn't ready to live out Ephesians 5:25-28, he doesn't deserve a wife. Men are looking for submission and P31 without being a qualifying component themselves..

I don't display my attributes of a wife to men that don't first display the can lead and be who they are called to be..

We go under their care. I've been taken advantage of and abused. Had to learn what to look for.

There's a lot of malnutrition in wives bc husbands aren't nourishing them or caring for them.

Single men with a selfish agenda wonder why good women don't want them.

True men are to lead and nourish their wives. You can judge that by how they treat the lesser in their life. But also how they live daily in relation to God's Word.

The question I have when I read your posts is; who's responsibility was it before he came along to nourish her? According to Ephesians 5:25 and following Its the Lord who washes by the water of the Word. Notice all the capital H's. The man is to do likewise. But the primary responsibility for your walk and nourishment spiritually is you. I've seen way too many women with godless or flop husbands living fruitful, though hindered, mature lives regardless.

Life is a one on one with God, regardless of what anyone else does or does not do.

I know that. But my experiences have been a lot of neglect on the husbands part. I am aware not everyone does it

I'm sorry to hear that. I have the same experience on my side. Please don't let it jade you. If you are....overcome s so God can restore and strengthen you. Even bless you with a man of God who wouldn't even think to treat you that way. And also use you to help others out of the same place.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Your story could be the key that unlocks somebody else's prison, don't be afraid to share it. ( Toby Mac)

"How do you spend that much time with someone that doesn't practice the same life you do? A Christian always has to neglect or deny or at least be Luke warm stay in one of those relationships. Which....is full of compromise."

Gosh I remember those days, so desperate for companionship I did compromise my own value as a child of God...by not having standards whatsoever except that they liked me. sort of..

today, I am SO utterly picky that when my friends ask...why are you so picky you may be single forever I said..you know what the alternative is? being in a relationship like most of ya'll have....the drama, the lies, the cheating..not for me..
but especially ..not being able to pray together, share God's love together, have respect for our physical bodies, share God stories and understand His power , love and
sovereignty... with our goal being eternity with Him..and getting there walking together.

I remember the last guy I dated claimed Jesus, went to church, had bibles in his house, Jesus stuff on the walls but I was constnatly slapping his hand away from my body..
that isn't how you treat a sister in Christ and we are told in scripture to treat eachother like brother and sister in the Lord until married.
another guy I talked to on the phone called the Holy Spirit an "it"..

just such a lack of a desire to truly follow Christ.. and the ones who do? are already married and happily...commited! to Jesus first then their marriage/ spouse..
so..

I love this response.. thank you for sharing!!

men who claimed God. Fruit is important. If they have none, red flag..

Classic example: "I chase Jesus" "I follow Jesus!!!!" could not be more emphatically claimed. Yet their actual follow up treatment of others is sarcastic, berating, reviling. You will know them by their fruits.

I agree. Check for fruit. Take a little time to know the person. You are considering allowing this person into your space. Do your homework. If he is the real deal he will stand up to scrutiny. Of course he may not be "Brother Theresa" but there will be certain fairly consistent character traits - Kindness, respectful, self-control etc...keeps his hands to himself, loves the Word, a Liverpool supporter, is respected by his peers...if his workmates can vouch for him that may be a good sign. Above all PRAY that God will guide you past the smooth talking, Bible toting, six packed whateverness that got your attention in the first place, to reveal what you really need to know.

We must marry within the church. Trying to turn a worldly person into a Christian so that you can marry them does not work.

Strange thing to just register and start asking personal questions.
I don't suppose you are a demonic shape shifter in disguise. :p
